ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE

Introduction
Ghana Library Authority in its Year of Learning has enhanced the Ghana Library App and added more features to suit all age groups.
In 2019, the Ghana Library Authority created the Ghana Library App in a bid to increase accessibility to reading materials through technology. The App has therefore been of great importance to Ghanaians especially during this COVID-19 pandemic period; it almost seem it was created for a period like this.
Previously, the content of the App was mainly classics from various vendors such as Worldreader, Feedbooks, Standard ebooks etc.
Now, GhLA in collaboration with other stakeholders like the Ghana Education Service have added contents that suit both children and adults.
Students, with the exemption of the final years are still at home, therefore children can use their time to read and learn on the App.

What is Ghana Library App?
Ghana Library Mobile App
The Ghana Library App, is a digital library app, providing access to eBooks, audiobooks and educational videos available on Android and IOS.
The App offers a collection of free GES curriculum ebooks, tutorial videos and audio books from Kindergarten to Senior High School/TVET and also fiction and non-fiction books to suit the general public.

Registration Process
Go to playstore or app store

Begin your registration by entering your details. After signing up, your Library Card number and a password would be sent to your email for sign-in.
Users can also use their email or phone number in place of library card to sign in.
Once you enter your given user name (Library card number, phone number or email address) and password, you will be taken to the Discover page of the app and then you can select the category (Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary and Public Library) you prefer.
When you download a book, video or audio it is automatically saved in “My Shelf” on the app.

Features of Ghana Library App
• The app has different categories for different age groups such as Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary (Junior High, Senior High and TVET) and Public library (Fiction and Non-fiction.
• It has on-demand videos in different subject areas
• It has audio books.
• A user can view all our events at the event section (both past and upcoming).
• The App gives subscribers access to locations of our 74 public libraries across the country.
• The app has a section for you to create your own library (My Shelf) by downloading ebooks, videos and audios of your choice. (No Offline mode yet).
• You can also adjust the font size, font face/style and background setting to suit a reader’s need.
• The app has a page for suggested educational sites.
• The app gives an estimated time a reader has to complete a page.
• The app has Night and Day reading functionality.
• Makes use of the in-built dictionary for iOS.
