It is a great honor that our team’s projects "Cultural osmosis" / Pavlos Melas Park and "Landscape_fluxes" / Salina Park are among the 42 distinguished projects at the 11th BIENNALE OF YOUNG GREEK ARCHITECTS organized by the Hellenic Institute of Architecture.

Topio7 is excited to participate in the special edition of LIFO, ADM24 Vision, a collaboration between Design Ambassador / Archisearch and LIFO.

As part of this initiative, and within the framework of Architects Talk 2023, Thanasis Polyzoidis was featured in an interview discussing the concept of "sponge cities" and its potential application in Athens.
This topic is particularly relevant in the current context of urban resilience during the climate crisis. It represents a global shift that is being adopted by architects and landscape architects, highlighting the urgent need for its exploration in Greece.

We are thrilled to announce that our project, "Cultural Osmosis – Redesign of Three Separate Areas at Pavlos Melas Park," has been shortlisted for the 2024 WLA Awards (World Landscape Architecture Awards) in the "Conceptual – Large Landscape Design" category!

Ιδιαίτερη τιμή και χαρά μας η συμμετοχή μας στο Συνέδριο ΑΡΧΙΤΕΚΤΟΝΙΚΗ ΤΟΠΙΟΥ +20, στη Θεσσαλονίκη 02-04/11,

όπου μοιραστήκαμε τις σκέψεις μας σχετικά με τις τρόπους, τις πρακτικές και στρατηγικές που μπορεί η αρχιτεκτονική τοπίου να συμβάλλει ώστε να ανακτηθούν εγκαταλελειμμένοι τόποι μεγάλης κλίμακας πρώην εξορυκτικής εκμετάλλευσης. Ένα θέμα ιδιαίτερα επίκαιρο στα πλαίσια της απολιγνιτοποίησης στην Ελλάδα αλλά και της διεθνούς κινητοποίησης για τη Δίκαιη Μετάβαση (Just transition) για την κλιματική αλλαγή και την περιβαλλοντική κρίση.

Στη δεύτερη εισήγηση αναλύσαμε θέματα σχετικά με τα Αστικά Πάρκα και τον Τοπιακό σχεδιασμό, διερευνώντας τους τρόπους που ο τοπιακός σχεδιασμός εφαρμόζοντας οικολογικές πρακτικές και δίδοντας έμφαση στο κοινωνικό αντίκτυπο ενός δημόσιου χώρου, μπορεί να αποτελέσει τον καταλύτη της ανάταξης του αστικού χώρου με όρους αειφορίας και συνομιλίας με την εκάστοτε χωρική ταυτότητα.

Thanasis Polyzoidis had the honor of receiving an invitation to participate in Panel 7: Green look and feel at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens. It was an extraordinary experience, during which he had the opportunity to share his expertise on the captivating subjects of Sustainability and Landscape Design, while also having the privilege of listening to some of the most pioneering colleagues in the field.

It goes without saying that Sustainability and landscape design are undeniably intertwined, and it is our duty to contribute to the creation of ecosustainability, particularly within urban environments. This is of utmost importance, considering that by the year 2050, more than two-thirds of the global population will reside in urban areas.
