Another exhilarating chapter of the Alba "Learning Agility in the Era of Disruption" summer school concluded!

This year's program was a dynamic blend of innovation and learning. George Panou led the charge on digital transformation, while Dr. Axarloglou Kostas delved into the intricacies of strategic agility. Elena Avatangelou guided students through imaginative design thinking projects with Wellics, and Dimitris Santorinaios taught how to navigate uncertainty and cultivate positivity.

Since January 2024, we've had the privilege of hosting talented students from universities worldwide for educational field trips. A total of 364 international students have worked on impactful, innovative projects with 30 Greek companies and start-ups, and visited another 18.
Our collaboration went beyond academics, featuring a notable volunteer effort to reduce food waste. In just two weeks this June, students collected nearly 3000 kilos of fruits and vegetables from farmers' markets in Athens for shelters and charities.
Students have expressed that these field trips have been incredibly inspiring, highlighting the vibrant intersection of education and entrepreneurship while immersing themselves in the rich culture of Greece.

Highlights from the first official Alba/ACG Shipping Alumni meeting! 🚢 We celebrated the amazing careers and contributions of our alumni to the shipping industry. It was a pleasure to host such a talented group who shared their inspiring success stories and the positive impact of their Alba Graduate Business School/ACG education.

Our speakers included Nikolas Arachovas, Helena Athoussaki, Fotis Dalmyras, Konstantinos Economopoulos, Panos Mitrou, and Konstandia Papaefthymiou. Special thanks to Dr. Ilias G. Bissias for moderating the insightful discussions.

The event was a huge success, filled with engaging conversations and valuable networking opportunities.

The MSc in Entrepreneurship students wrapped up their Feasibility Analysis and Business Planning course with exceptional final presentations of their new business ventures. One more year ''Shipping in Action'', one more year of amazing collaboration with the ICS. The 4th Summer School on "Shipping in Action," took place on June 25-28, 2024, in Piraeus and Athens, under the guidance of the Director of all Alba Shipping Programs, Spyros Vougious. This program provided students from Greece and abroad with a rich blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience through expert lectures and visits to leading shipping companies, covering emerging technologies, environmental impacts, and commercial aspects of the shipping industry.

Few days back, we celebrated the commencement ceremonies for both Alba and the Deree School of Graduate and Professional Education’s Class of 2024. This momentous event coincided with ACG’s significant historical and legislative milestones.On top, this year, we had the first graduates of the Alba Online MBA program.

The new graduates join an extended family of nearly 67,000 ACG alumni from Greece and abroad who carve their bright futureproof career paths. Can't believe that already a week has passed from the closing of Posidonia 2024! We proudly participated in this premier international shipping exhibition held at Metropolitan Expo. We were honored to be part of the USA pavilion, engaging with industry leaders, alumni, and partners and sharing our expertise during seminars. With over 2,000 exhibitors and 40,000 participants coming from 130 countries, Posidonia 2024 highlighted our commitment to excellence in shipping education and research. We are proud to announce that our School, Oracle Academy and NetU, proudly secured a prestigious recognition at the Cloud Computing Awards 2024. We were honored with the Bronze award in the SaaS Product for ERP category for the exemplary implementation of the Oracle NetSuite cloud ERP within the "Financial Management Applications" course of the Alba MBA program, as a proud member of Oracle Academy and with the support of NetU Group. This award recognizes our innovative use of the NetSuite cloud application in the "Financial Management Applications" course of the Alba MBA program, led by Prof. Stefanos Zarkos. The course stands out for its emphasis on student interaction and experiential learning in financial planning and control.
Our achievement features distinguished personalities who played pivotal roles in this success. Our recent shipping field trip to Oslo was a huge success! Students immersed themselves in the maritime industry, visiting key companies like Höegh Autoliners , SKULD, Grieg Shipbrokers, and DNV. They gained insights into green solutions, shipping markets, and autonomous vessels, and honed their skills with practical exercises and interactive discussions.
