New publication documenting the community-based refashion initiative with .of.refashion

reimagines the ubiquitous but now devalued Greek traditional textiles – the semedakia – as a symbol of the labour, creativity, technical skill and innovation shared between generations of women over thousands of years. Produced by hand, each is intimate, unique, imbued with time, patience and dedication – a poignant and tangible antithesis to today's mass-produced disposable fashion.

The current volume argues for the , and of how we approach and being together as a , and it is designed as a of the fashion industry standard: the lookbook. House of reFashion designs are presented in 28 vibrant spreads featuring the project participants in surreal semedaki landscapes. The book presents texts about the and history of and by artists, scholars and cultural commentators, all inspiring us to rethink our relationship to clothing and textiles.

Το .of.refashion και το Victoria Square Project σας προσκαλούν την Τρίτη, 28 Ιουνίου 2022, στο Victoria Square Project, για την παρουσίαση του βιβλίου « #ΠρότζεκτΣεμεδάκι», μιας συλλογικής έκδοσης που τεκμηριώνει τη κοινοτική πρωτοβουλία μόδας .

Το #ΠρότζεκτΣεμεδάκι πραγματεύεται τον επανασχεδιασμό, την επαναχρησιμοποίηση και την επανεξέταση του τρόπου που προσεγγίζουμε τα ρούχα και τη συνύπαρξή μας στο πλαίσιο μιας κοινότητας. Ως εκ τούτου, το βιβλίο φαντάζεται εκ νέου ένα βασικό στοιχείο της βιομηχανίας της μόδας: το lookbook. Τα σχέδια του House of reFashion παρουσιάζονται μέσα από 28 ζωηρές φωτογραφικές παρουσιάσεις με μοντέλα σε σουρεαλιστικά τοπία από σεμεδάκια. Το #ΠρότζεκτΣεμεδάκι εμπεριέχει κείμενα από καλλιτέχνες, μελετητές και πολιτιστικούς σχολιαστές, για την κοινωνική και πολιτική ιστορία της μόδας και της χειρωναξίας, τα οποία μας εμπνέουν να ξανασκεφτούμε τη σχέση μας με τα ρούχα και τα υφάσματα.
