Dear friends and colleagues !

We would like to share with you the announcement of a new initiative by IFEA (International Federation of Endodontic Association) of creating a "World Endodontic Day" that would be celebrated annually on "October 16th" every year.

The World Endodontic Day is being created by IFEA to improve general awareness regarding dental health challenges posed by endodontic diseases and make the public understand various preventive and therapeutic measures taken by endodontists & general dentists in preserving the natural dentition.

A resolution to create a “World Endodontic Day” was proposed by Dr Gopi Krishna, Secretary IFEA during the AGM meeting of IFEA held on 12th November 2022 and this proposal was unanimously approved by all the member societies/associations of IFEA. The decision to choose October 16th as the date to celebrate this concept based on the following criteria :-

- 16th is the birthday of Louis Grossman, one of the founding fathers of our specialty.
- October is the month of incorporation of IFEA as a registered federation.

The IFEA executive would like to request that each member society/ association coordinate and conduct programs to celebrate this day globally.

We request that you disseminate this information to the members of your society/ association and share your suggestions with the entire IFEA community to make this awareness campaign more effective.
