It’s long been Ryky's dream to create profound change in the world via the works he does. Everyone at Burrfection Store shares Ryky’s vision. While he’s out there sharing his knowledge, helping aspiring chefs, young people and communities in need, we at Burrfection Store also like to dream big. We believe it’s possible to change the world, one knife at a time.

Yes, knives. The apparently simple tool with a handle and a blade. But not all knives are created equal, and the Burrfection community knows this the best. We have yet to find a house without a kitchen knife - it’s perhaps the most owned device in the world. Yet with industrialized mass production, most of these knives are made of inferior material and with inferior techniques. For most people, they have never experienced the pleasure of well designed and well crafted chef knives, the tactile feedback and precision they give. More importantly, these dull and uninspiring knives wreck havoc on cutting surfaces of food, damaging cell structures and making everything taste a little worse.

Fortunately the art of blademaking and sharpening is well preserved in Japan, where the highest qualities knives and sharpening products are made today. The stories of their dedication, their effort to preserve the art and science can be told for days and weeks. At Burrfection Store we want to be that storyteller. These are the stories that would make the world a little better, and if we are lucky enough to tell everyone, a lot better. Because if we start appreciating these tools, and if we learn to take care these tools, we end up not only sharpening beautiful knives, but also our tastebud for better food, and our appreciation for better cooking. That’s the change we dream to create.
