Kung Hei Fat Choi to you all, enter the Year of the Dragon! 🐉🧧 Mirroring the many geometric patterns typically found in HK’s original building floorings and walls, our very first, newly designed Lunar New Year Lai See Packet pays homage to the traditional HK mosaic tile in style, colour and authenticity. Equally inspired by earth’s precious element, water, our Red Packet pattern is a take on underwater photographer Christy Lee Rogers’ floor-to-ceiling, oversized statement art mosaic wall, which lines our hotel’s Lobby entrance with its mesmerising presence and fairy tale-like flow. Taking inspiration from her artistry and vision, Christy’s mystical works of art exude surrealism and lightness, as she makes her foray into the Mondrian circuit in HK honouring the city’s former fishing village and surrounding water heritage. Ethereal, sublime and fluid, the mosaic’s metallic glow, featured on the wall and reflected on the Red Packet, is composed of gentle waves and gliding goddesses dancing in hues of red, aquamarine, blue, violet and gold. Designed with an alternative perspective of mosaic brilliance typical of HK’s infamous pattern, the tiles radiate a design aesthetic comprising verve, dynamism and style, complementing Mondrian’s oversized imagination. An unexpected take on the traditional, we can’t wait for you to get your hands on these limited edition Packets and distribute them to your family and friends. Representing a celebration of lucky money exchanges that are filled with as much excitement of what’s on the inside, as well as what’s on the out, they make for a lasting imprint for both the global and local guest.
