Do LED light fixtures need to be grounded?

Not for the operation of LED’s.
If the fixture has a metal housing or some other conducting material, then yes, although the risk is quite small.

The housing would have to become energized (unlikely), you would have to touch it and provide a path to ground some how to get shocked.

Can cameras be hidden in LED lights?

Which is better, LED or incandescent lights?

It depends upon what you mean by better. What criteria would you use to decide which is better.

However, we can say that LED lights tend to be more efficient. Incandescent lights generate quite a lot of heat so not all of the energy is used to generate light.

You can get more light per unit energy with an LED light than with an incandescent light. If energy efficiency is your criterion for deciding which is better, then I think LED lights are better.

What's the difference between an LED wall washer and an LED strip light?

a. The main difference is the light beam angle and waterproofness.

b. for led wall washers, it's a narrow beam angle light like 20 degrees or 30 degrees; in this way, the light can reach 1.5–2.5 meters on the wall to wash the wall. Also, LED wall washers are always used outdoors, so nearly all of them are waterproof.

c. For LED strip lights, the beam angle is 120 degrees. And there are both waterproof and non-waterproof versions on the market.

Why are LED lights so commonly a cool white?

LED White light’s actual LED is of InGaN type, emitting around 400 to 450nm (Violet to Blue light). This light is then used to pump phosphors that will re-emit light at the white visible wavelength.

Two issue occur
1) There’s still a bit violet-blue light present in the final spectrum, giving the bluish hue that is typical of the cool light
2) it is more efficient to pump phosphors that re-emits closer to the original pumping wavelength.

BTW, fluorescent tubes are also typically cool-white for the same reason.

Can LED strip lights be used outdoors?

Just as with any electrical device the Leds and surrounding circuitry can be made impervious to dust and moisture by sealing them.

They will then be graded according to the IP ( ingress protection) standard

For instance IP 65 means it is protected against airborne dust and water sprays, while IP 68 means it protected against airborne dust and submersion up to a 1.5 metres under water for up to 30 minutes.

Why do CFL and LED bulbs burn out?

LED’s do not burn out unless they have been overdriven to make them appear brighter than they should. It is usually the electronics that fail because the designers have not properly allowed for the way they work and cut costs.

12V LED bulbs should be the most reliable of all. But I found they were being overdriven, burning the LED, and many had bad soldering on one of the wires, also causing failure.

Generally what makes electronic components unreliable is them getting too hot.

Lightbulbs have limited space for the electronics, and cheap ones don’t devote enough effort and expense to getting rid of the heat - so they run hotter than is desirable and fail sooner.

Better-quality LED lamps have large finned metal heatsinks to help get rid of the heat, the components run cooler and last longer - unless the lamp is put in a fitting with inadequate ventilation.

Why do some light-emitting diodes (LEDs) flicker but others don't even with the same power source and wiring?

Inside the light bulb structure, there is a circuit that transforms 120vAC (US) to about 15 vDC that actually powers the LED.

The sporadic flashing from an LED light is due to the circuit is dying. It is gasping it’s last breath - or so to speak. I guess it is letting you know it’s time to replace it.

If we replace an MV lamp into an equivalent LED lamp, which point should we need to consider?

Heat removal and the lumens output. MV lamps run very hot most fixtures do not dissipate heat well. High power led arrays do not like heat.

Also pay attention to the light distribution all the light should be directed downward and not in the sky.

Depending on the use of the area you may be able to use less light especially if the color rendition is considered.
