Today we celebrate the life and work of Tove Jansson (1914-2001), an artist, writer and the creator of Moomins. The 9th of August is Jansson’s birthday and Finnish Art Day. 🇫🇮

Jansson was a versatile artist – wrote multiple novels, cartoons, plays and short stories as well as produced paintings and illustrations. Yet she is most well-known for creating the beloved Moomin characters.

The Moomins are an important part of Finnish cultural heritage as already three generations have grown up with their stories.
