Assalamu’alaikum, since Dhikhr and Du’a is currently on a break. I am trying to reflect on the quality of my worship and the quality of my understanding of the deen.

So I am trying to read more and listen to more lectures from the learned scholars.

Here’s a Hadith I came across from one of the lessons I was attending. Its so motivating, I really wanted to share it here with you all. May you all be inspired to seek knowledge and spread the goodness and truth of the deen.

Assalamu’alaikum everyone! This weekend, we wanted to share a beautiful gem we came across,

The Great Scholar Muhammad Bin Salih Al-Uthaymeen [رحمه الله] said:
❝From the most comprehensive of what you can supplicate with is what is mentioned in the Hadeeth of Anas [رضي الله عنه] that the Prophet [ﷺ] would say this a lot in his Dua’:
«رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّار.»

'O our Lord give us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter and save us from the punishment of The Fire.'

Since indeed this Dua’ is the most comprehensive of all Dua’.
«رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً»
'O our Lord give us goodness in this world'

This includes all the goodness of the Duniya:

• From having a righteous spouse,
• Comfortable transport,
• Tranquil home,
• As well as other matters.

«وَفِي الآخِرَةِ  حَسَنَةً»
'Goodness in the Hereafter'

This includes all the goodness of the Hereafter:

• From an easy reckoning,
• Being given your record of deeds in the right hand,
• Easily passing over the Siraat [bridge],
• Drinking from the lake of the Messenger [ﷺ],
• Entry into Paradise,
• As well as other matters from the goodness of the Hereafter.

So this Dua is from the most comprehensive of supplications rather it is the most comprehensive because it is inclusive and complete.❞
