I’m holding my very first registration certificate from 25 years ago. After working for for 4 years until 1999, I decided to take a different path and become a . was always in my blood and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. And i stuck with it. Grateful the business survived 2 pandemics - SARS and COVID.
25 years later, I still love the industry. And I’m lucky to be sharing it with my husband too. The industry is rapidly changing. We need to adapt to new whilst keeping the timeless theme of connection, joy and love in the we capture. This will be a special year for us and we want to show gratitude to and everyone who has supported us in this 25-year journey! Stay tuned for some exciting developments to come!

Amber and James, it’s my first time NOT being with you on Mother’s Day. I’m sure you are both having an amazing time in China with classmates! And I’m happy we took these photos together before you left HK. It’s become our mom’s day tradition.

All I can say is that i want you to learn from as many people as possible. I have little to offer - just a hug, listening ear, pocket money, Italian pasta dishes, and a collection of nice family portraits you can hopefully share with your children one day. I’m enjoying this journey of life with you. Hope you are too. I know you will spread your wings, maybe fly and settle far away. But I can only hope your internal compass will keep you close to me, either physically or emotionally, as we grow old ❤️☺️.

Photographing these large groups freaked me out in my 20s! All eyes staring at me… how nerve wracking! I prayed my studio lights wouldn’t topple over. I even brought another set of contact lens in case my contacts popped out and I’d go blind in front of everyone!

Back in 1995 when I was a full time photographer for Cathay Pacific, my camera became my security blanket. The moment I put the camera up to my eyes, it shielded me from the intimidating large groups I had to direct for official portraits. But the more I photographed, the more confident and less nervous I became. Now that I’m older, I’m definitely not as shy, and happy to direct any group big or small. Daniel comes alive even more, when he’s in front of a large group of people. I’m happy my job helped me overcome that side of my personality. So don’t ever tell yourself you’re shy and will always be. You can grow and develop yourself to overcome and change aspects of your personality, hopefully for the better ❤️.

We love photographing the teenage demographic! Teens just need to feel ‘understood’ and feel that adults are listening. Thank you Ashley for being so fun to work with! ❤️

I printed 6x8 inch photographs to give back to the senior residents I photographed. Because I want them to touch and feel a photograph and look at themselves with that sense of happiness. It’s not the same when I simply show them photos on the phone. Btw, every image was shot on iPhone and retouched on iPhone as well. But when it comes to display…print rules!

Here are more of my friends - Sam, the most youthful 94 yr old I met who still drives and enjoys chinese painting and calligraphy. I also captured Lillian, my warmest neighbor down the hall, the dapper Mr Lee, pretty in pinky Gwen who collects egg cups, and my dearest Dad.

Just living with seniors these last couple weeks has been a mindful practice. I’ve been walking slower in their presence, talking slower too. Trying my best to actively listen. I’m reluctant to pull out my phone in the dining hall, cause no one looks at phones. They only look at one another, engaging each other in conversation, or just sitting quietly in each others company. I’ve gotten used to the quiet and stillness of living.

I recall my happiness teacher once say, ‘Happiness comes from looking forward to something’. Seniors have lived a large chunk of their lives already and you often wonder how they can look forward to ‘something.’ Their bodies wear down, mind often follows, spouses and friends pass away. Its tough being a senior. But i guess when they aren’t chasing career, money, ambition, purpose, like so many of us, they live their lives day to day. Reaching that stage of being a senior is a gift in itself. So maybe its not so much about looking forward to something, its more about looking back at how life’s been lived. And simply feeling grateful they made it this far ❤️.

While I visit my Dad in Canada, I’ve been focusing on a series of portraits of seniors - some over 90 and still driving too! I made 2 new friends - 96 yr old Bill and 60 yr old Pearl (in dog years). Bill’s doing something right. I ask him what’s his secret? He tells me ‘he’s simply lucky.’ While I photograph him, I see the ease at which he does things. A true gentle-man. No stress or complaints, just constantly smiling and getting on with things. Putters around in his scooter a few times a day to relieve Pearl outdoors. He really focuses his love towards his beloved Pearl. Thank you Bill for your friendship and letting me capture these photos ❤️.

It was heart warming when we went to Estella & Cliff’s house and they pull out our album from 10 years ago! All images, colors, mats beautifully intact! Sebastian, Inez and Anais enjoying their childhood moments. Our heirloom albums are meant to outlive us.
