Design is a minimal yet effective intervention in dialogue with the needs of its users and context. We filter and accentuate the essential in design, and find beauty in simple and clear intentions. Napp Studio & Architects is a design office that works across scales between space and object - from architecture, interior, exhibition to furniture and product. As architects, we approach des
【 I.M.Pei Collection 】
From plans and elevations of the Museum of Chinese Art for Shanghai into bookmarks, three-dimensional forms of Bank of China into glass vases, roof plan of Everson Museum into wall clock, interlocking volumes of National Gallery of Art East Building into candle holders, to roof geometry and tunnel framing of Miho Museum into kaleidoscope, each object is an abstraction and interpretation of a particular architectural project from his prolific oeuvres selected to be showcased in the exhibition while trying to illustrate the architectural essence of each from a fresh perspective through the lens of architecture and product design.

【 Adventist Medical Center 】
The highly sanitized typical white medical interiors are not unfamiliar to everyone. However, with the recent booming wellness industry that focuses not just on physical but also mental well-being, Adventist Medical Centre is a pilot project to transform medical interior and elevate user experience without sacrificing operational needs. The entire concept originates from Adventist Health’s branding color pink with a twist that relates wellness to natural scenery. The design intends to borrow the materiality and ambience of canyon and pink lake that radiate a sense of security and warmth. Subverting the typical white and clinical interior that is often unpleasant to the users due to a lack of natural or human touch, an earthy material palette with various shades of pink and beige is adopted to render a cosy and peaceful environment that calm one’s body and mind.

【 Public Objects Of Nam Cheong Street】
Environmental care begins with mutual acceptance and reciprocal relationships between humans and other species. This exhibition takes Nam Cheong Street in Sham Shui Po as the research object, aiming to explore the close but distant relationship between humans and other species in the urban environment. By observing street spaces and facilities we look for places that occasionally provide habitat for other organisms and think about how to build an urban environment that embraces all humans and species. The exhibition will narrate 37 incredible, bizarre and strange stories in Nam Cheong Street in Sham Shui Po, but at the same time show the diversity of nature, allowing the public to re-examine our urban environment from a non-human perspective. We hope to expand from being people-centered to being all-things-centered and realize the vision of a sustainable city.

【 CG(HK) SPRING 2024 】
This season’s auction design focuses on the painting section entry demonstrating works from two renowned painters, Chu Teh-Chun and Wu Guanzhong. Portal has always been an important element in Chinese architecture and gardens as a transition from one world to another, outside to inside. Paintings are also a portal from reality into another world. Thus, the concept is to create a portal into the painting section and portals into each painting. While a physical puncture creates a physical opening for an entrance, the indentation on the wall folds a solid surface into an imaginary space where each painting appears to be floating through the manipulation of perspective and lighting.
