Excited to share that one of my photos came 3rd place (Expert Choice) and 8th place (Crowd Choice) at the Photocrowd's "Landscape #650" photo competition (Nov 2022)

This image is an amalgamation of both composition and light working together to create a rather intriguing scene. The textures of the rock is really enhanced by the light that is flooding the image, bringing out all those granite greys and warm orange/red accents and leading the eye through the valley. The green foliage provides some relief from the rugged landscape and the light in the background adds some atmosphere. Nicely processed to bring out those colours and light. ~ Verity Milligan

Trilled to share that one of my photos came 3rd place at the Photocrowd's "Animal #613" competition (Nov 2022)

There is a special quality to this image, enhanced by the almost wistful experience you've captured on the monkey's face. Although the monkey itself is the main subject matter, the surroundings and how you've composed help to lead the eye to the heart of the image. Your choice to vignette helps this, and the fact that you've left space between the monkey and the tree truck works to create some balance. The monkey, however, is the main event, with those eyes staring straight down the camera lens. Nicely captured. ~ Verity Milligan
