As one of the most popular tattoo artists in Korea. Doy's works have been described as "on par with watercolour paintings as if they could fade away with a light splash of water". We chatted with him about himself and the connection with Dr. Martens:

Q1: Tell us about yourself as an artist.

I’ve been a tattooist in Korea for 18 years and use bright colours to create beautiful art on my client’s bodies.

Q2: What inspires you creatively?

I need to be inspired before I start creating, and that comes from lots of artistic styles outside of tattooing. For me the most important aspect is mediation and prayer.

Q3: When did you first come across Dr. Martens?

I can't remember exactly, but definitely over 20 years ago. I think my wife gave me a pair as a gift when we were dating at university. Hopefully, that’s right; otherwise, I’m going to be in trouble.

Q4: How have you found being part of the DM’s family?

Every pair of DM’s I've ever owned has lasted for over 5 years. It means I’ve always felt part of the family and it just makes me happy.

Introducing TienTien .

As a Taiwan tattoo artist, TienTien is focusing the traditional Japanese style of tattooing since 2011. We chatted with him about himself and the connection with Dr. Martens:

Q1: Tell us about you as an artist.

Hi, I am Tattooer TienTien, for now I am focusing on Japanese traditional tattoo and Ukiyo-e style. I passioned on tattoo since my college, and I went to the professional tattoo store to have further study until now.
In earlier stage, I am addicted to merge Japanese traditional tattoo style with anime. Tried to make tattoos be more humorous and not too serious. And now, I am focusing on Japanese big graphic’s study & creation.

Q2: What inspires you creatively?

A lot, I am loves to finding some traditional book/album as my inspiration. Also, anime & cyber punk are also the elements I will reference to.

Q3: When did you first come across Dr. Martens?

I bought my first Dr. Martens when I am college, and I worm it until now! It’s very comfort and still looks nice!

Q4: How have you found being part of the DM’s family?

I am feeling very exciting about this! I still remember that I had saw Dr. Martens worked with Japanese Tattooer before, so I am glad that I have this chance to work with Dr. Martens this time as well!

Q1: Tell us about yourself as an artist.

Hi, my name is NADi and I’m tattoo artist based in Seoul.

Q2: What inspires you creatively?

Literally everything. From sensations to thoughts to my experiences

Q3: When did you first come across Dr. Martens?

I was interested in leather boots, and vintage styles and so naturally Dr. Martens came to my attention.

Q4: How have you found being part of the DM’s family?

My friend gave pair of Dr. Martens, and it really feel like everyone remembers their first pair :)

Catherine, a tattoo artist from Taiwan, she is specializes in a blend of new traditional, realistic, and illustrative elements. We chatted with her about herself, and she's root of inspirations:

Q1: Tell us about yourself as an artist.

I'm Catherine from Taiwan, also known as the Ink Fairy. I've been practicing the art of tattooing for seven years. My passion lies in depicting mystical and magical beings, as well as capturing the beauty of animals. I'm drawn to vibrant colour contrasts and using different subjects to create an intriguing blend in my work.

Q2: What inspires you creatively?

Dr. Martens always leaves a bold and practical impression, which sparked my imagination. I opted to illustrate brightly coloured animals, intertwining soft feather designs to create a flowing effect. Through this approach, I aim to unveil the softer and more endearing side of Dr. Martens.

Q1: Tell us about yourself as an artist
I’m Jimmy Yuen, founder of Ring the Bell and co-founder of the RGB Academy, with almost 20 years of tattooing experience.

Q2: What inspires you creatively?
Travelling to different countries inspires my creativity.

Q3: When did you first come across Dr. Martens?
When I was in high school around 28 years ago, I was working hard to save money and get my first pair of Dr. Martens. I wore them for almost 5 years, even when they didn’t fit me anymore.

Q4: How have you found being part of the DM’s family?
From a really young age, I’ve known Dr. Martens are my must-have footwear.
