Founded by Chef Taran Chadha and his wife Sheela, BlackSalt is driven by flavours representative of the Chef’s heritage, shaken up with a modern twist of the Indian subcontinent. Using only the freshest premium ingredients and seasoned with home-made masala spices, BlackSalt’s dishes are inspired mostly by Nepalese, Bengali and Sri Lankan cuisine.
BlackSalt Tavern, in partnership with Black Kite Brewery, Kowloon Bay Brewery and The Tramline Liquor Co., is located at the ground floor of One South Lane, right behind the HKU MTR Station (Exit B2) and just steps away from Queen's Road West, Hotel Jen, The Westwood Mall, The Belcher's and Kennedy Town district. The area has a reputation as a foodie hub fueled by happy hours and diverse eateries that attract young professionals, multicultural families and university students.
While the restaurant and taproom bar atmosphere at BlackSalt Tavern is contemporary, fun and inventive, the food has the authenticity of tried and true traditional recipes. No matter what your culinary preferences are — meats, vegan or vegetarian — there will be a dish to suit your mood.
Open from Tuesday to Sunday with Happy Hour from 3-7pm, Dinner service from 6-11pm & Brunch served on Saturday, Sunday & select Public Holidays from 12-4pm. Closed every Monday.
