The opening ceremony of Tan Ping solo exhibition ‘Back and Forth: The Art of Tan Ping’ was held on 31st May 2024 at the Rothko Museum in Taugavpils, Latvia. Art professionals, collectors and media gathered at the opening. The artist himself, the curator, the Mayor of Taugavpils, the Director of the Rothko Museum, the representative of Wei Gallery and the representative of the Chinese Embassy in Latvia were all present at the ceremony to celebrate the opening of the European exhibition of Tan Ping.

Tan Ping Solo “Back and Forth: The Art of Tan Ping”

This exhibition honours Tan Ping‘s hybrid identity as an artist; not only was he educated in Beijing and Berlin, but his work fuses European and Asian elements – including the work of Mark Rothko. After this major exhibition, which will be the premiere show during the summer season at the Rothko Museum, the artist will have another European show at the Museum Ludwig, Koblenz in Germany.

We are pleased to invite those with a passion for art including Tan Ping’s collectors to attend the opening ceremony of “Back and Forth” on May 31st at the Rothko Museum.

Wei Gallery is pleased to announce a new book co-edited with Chinese artist Tan Ping, "𝙏𝙖𝙣 𝙋𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝟭𝟵𝟳𝟮-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮" has been released on 31 May 2023.

Starting from 2020, Wei Gallery hopes to set an important milestone in his art career by editing a collection of art documentation for him, "Tan Ping 1972-2022", which is also a testimony of Wei Gallery and Tan Ping's perseverance in the artistic journey in the three tough years since the outbreak of the epidemic.

In addition, on behalf of the Tan Ping team, Wei Gallery is delighted to announce that the artist's official website www.tanpingstudio.com [Link in Stories Highlight] is finally launched to the public. The website aims to provide a platform to showcase the artists' works, related exhibitions, and documentary materials for the general audience.

More information about Tan Ping's works, exhibitions, and publications will be released on the website. Art lovers of Tan Ping, please stay tuned.

Specializing in capturing fleeting light and shadows, Hua's paintings exude a quiet and solid visual impression, making her a contemporary artist with a distinctive style based on her pure colors and unique compositions.
