轉季天氣不少人都會出現皮膚痕癢、乾燥問題，用護膚油會比乳霜更適合嗎？

一般來說，使用護膚油、乳霜、乳液或其他形式的產品有助補充我們面部的天然油脂。由於護膚油通過密封和防止水分流失產生潤膚作用，對皮膚極度乾燥、甚至皮膚龜裂的人可能較為適合。因為它們通過密封和防止水分流失而起到潤膚作用。

然而，太油膩護膚產品有機會阻塞毛孔。容易長暗瘡的人在使用護膚油時要謹慎，因為在暗瘡皮膚上塗抹油有機會會堵塞毛孔，使暗瘡惡化。不過，這並不意味著油性皮膚的人永遠不能嘗試護膚油。與任何護膚產品一樣，由於每個人都有獨特的皮膚，因此應該在開始試用時對其進行測試並適度使用。開始時可以在日常保濕霜中混合幾滴，由每週1至2 次起，逐步試用，以觀察皮膚的反應。如果確實爆發了暗瘡，那或許表示你只可偶爾在皮膚非常乾燥時才使用護膚油。

護膚品滋潤度視乎不同人士膚質，應根據個人需求挑選。不同膚質於秋冬季節，可選用較夏天習慣使用產品更滋潤的護膚品。如對選擇合適的護膚品有疑問，最好還是諮詢醫生意見。

The right skincare during seasonal change

In general, facial oils, creams, emulsions or other forms of products are substances that help complement our natural facial oils. Facial oils may be most beneficial to those with dry, cracked skin, as they act as emollients by sealing and preventing transdermal water loss.

Meanwhile, products that are heavy or greasy are more likely to clog the pores. Applying oil on acne skin could clog pores and make acne worse. Those who are acne-prone should be cautious when using face oil. As with any skincare product, start slow and allow your skin to adjust. If you are applying facial oil for the first time, start by mixing a few drops in with your daily moisturiser once a week and gradually move up the frequency. If you do notice break out, facial oil could be something you should use sporadically such as when you feel your skin is very dry.

The level of moisture required varies among individual skin type, and should be selected in accordance with their own needs and preferences. Depending on individual skin types, usually we would select products that are more moisturising in winter than summer. If you’re unsure about choosing the right skin products, it's best to consult your doctor.

透明質酸的「解藥」？

透明質酸作為美容填充劑，是提升面部輪廓的非手術方法之一。客觀來說，凡事總是有利有弊。有時，透明質酸填充位置不準確、填充過多、出現腫塊、或者填充位置太淺層而出現反光效果、又或病人在注射後不喜歡想還原。甚至出現緊急情況，例如透明質酸注射到動脈內使血液堵塞或出現感染等情況，很多時都會使用透明質酸溶解酶修正透明質酸填充物。

所謂的「解藥」其實是指透明質酸溶解酶（Hyaluronidase）注射。這種鹼性蛋白質，主要用來修復不理想的透明質酸塑形。由於其固有特性，不同的填充劑對透明質酸酶的反應不同：填充劑的交聯程度越高，注入皮膚的量越大，需要去除的單位就越多。所以，它的注射份量不容易掌控。若拿捏不好有時會出現溶解不夠或溶解過多的情況。透明質酸酶的潛在風險主要包括有機會過敏，一般建議分幾次溶解，不會於一次注射大的劑量。

An "antidote" to hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid, as a cosmetic injectable filler, is commonly used for facial contouring. Objectively speaking, there are always pros and cons in everything. There are incidences of dissatisfactory cosmetic outcome, delayed onset nodules, allergic reaction to the hyaluronic acid filler, tyndall effect, or emergencies situations such as vascular occlusion. During these times, hyaluronidase (aka the so-called “antidote to hyaluronic acid”) may be used for the correction of complications and unsatisfactory results.

Different types of HA filler react differently to hyaluronidase because of their intrinsic characteristics: the more cross-linked a filler is and the greater amount injected to the skin, the more units of hyaluronidase is usually required. Therefore, it could be challenging to determine the exact amount of hyaluronidase needed to correct the fillers. Since there is a small risk of allergic reactions following hyaluronidase, it is usually recommended to dissolve the fillers with lower dose of hyaluronidase over a few sessions rather than trying to dissolve all in one treatment.

男士常見的皮膚問題有很多，單單圍繞暗瘡就有凹凸洞、暗瘡印、毛孔粗大等。要處理暗瘡，須視乎導致暗瘡的原因和它的嚴重程度，對症下藥

如果只是想治療輕度暗瘡問題（白頭、黑頭或丘疹），一般可以嘗試外用乙醇酸、水楊酸、過氧化苯甲酰或 0.1% 阿達帕林凝膠。局部非處方治療通常是有效的，但需注意有機會發生過敏反應。最好在初次使用時在一小區域內先做測試。如果用了這些非處方產品 3 個月後還沒有改善，則可能需要進行臨床評估。

如暗瘡的情況較為嚴重或屬囊性（較深、有疼痛和充滿膿液），醫生可能會建議您同時採用多種治療，包括局部和口服藥物、換膚和光療 - 例如激光和強脈衝光 (IPL)以防止和減少疤痕。

謹記任何一種暗瘡皆忌用手擠壓，此舉不僅未能消除暗瘡，更可能令暗瘡發炎反應更嚴重，甚至留下疤痕！

There are many common skin problems for men, such as bump holes, acne marks, large pores and so on. To treat acne, it’s key to understand the cause of the breakout and its severity.

When we are looking to treat mild lesions (whiteheads, blackheads or papules), topical glycolic acid, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide or adapalene 0.1% gel can generally be used. These topical non-prescription acne therapies are generally effective though hypersensitivity reactions can occur. It is best to test these products out on just a small area during initial use. If there is no improvements to these non-prescription products after 3 months of treatment, a more thorough clinical evaluation may be in order.

If you’re struggling with more severe or cystic (deep, painful and pus-filled) acne, a doctor may advise combination therapies involving topical and oral medications, chemical peels and light-based treatments (laser and intense pulsed light (IPL), which may prevent and minimise scarring.

Definitely don’t try to pop that pimple on your own! Picking at the lesions can deepen the infection and worsen hyperpigmentation and scarring.

透明質酸（Hyaluronic Acid）是存在於真皮層中，人體自然生成的天然物質，注入後能支撐及鞏固肌膚，增加皮膚下的水份和彈性，撫平皺紋及改善輪廓。用於唇上能即時豐唇，同時改善唇部缺水、乾紋等情況。需注意注射時醫生的手勢相當重要，每次注入的份量要平均，才能避免唇部出現凹凸不平的情況。

另外由於透明質酸會隨着人體的新陳代謝被吸收，效果並非永久。皮膚注射的位置亦會有瘀青及發炎的風險，建議注射前先向註冊醫生作諮詢，特別是孕婦、哺乳的女性或有長期病患人士，都必先跟醫生了解及評估風險。

Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan (a type of sugars) found throughout the body's connective tissue. It is the main component of what gives your skin structure, and is responsible for that plump and hydrated look. When being used on lips, it instantly produces a plumping effect, at the same time improves lip cracking and dry wrinkles. It should be noted that the doctor's injection skills play a key role in the effects, as the amount of each injected bolus of HA should be even to avoid uneven lips.

Those interested in getting the treatment should be reminded that the effect of hyaluronic acid is not permanent, as it will be gradually degraded by the body. There may also be risks of bruising and inflammation at the site of injection. Always consult a registered doctor for the fitness of procedure, especially for pregnant, breastfeeding women or anyone with chronic diseases. Thorough evaluation and assessment must be conducted by a registered doctor to understand the procedure and risks involved.
