Caffe Milani is proud to launch the Milani Travel Log, a monthly culinary journey featuring an innovative Italian fusion dish inspired by flavors from around the world. Led by our Italian Executive Chef Saverio Massari, who has traveled extensively to different countries, gathering inspiration from various cultures, this series brings his global culinary experiences to your plate.

For our first release, we present the Japanese Inspired Hokkaido Scallops Pasta, a perfect fusion of Italian and Japanese flavors. This dish combines fresh Hokkaido scallops with an Italian-Japanese twist. The sauce is based on a traditional Italian tomato sauce recipe, but with a Japanese influence – soy sauce and mirin are used in place of salt and white wine. The result is an aromatic, umami-rich sauce that enhances the dish’s spicy and savory tomato flavors, creating a complex and exciting dining experience.

Japanese people have always had a deep love for Italian cuisine, often incorporating Japanese ingredients and sauces into Italian dishes to impart a Japanese flavor. Our charismatic chef Saverio Massari, inspired by his experiences with Japanese cuisine during his time in Japan, has skillfully blended Japanese ingredients with traditional Italian techniques to create this Italian-Japanese fusion risotto. Featuring fresh Hokkaido scallops, the risotto combines their natural sweetness with a distinctly Japanese-flavored sauce, filling the air with an enticing Japanese aroma before even taking a bite. Each mouthful reveals a unique interplay of subtle spiciness and tomato sauce, with a complex and varied texture. This risotto perfectly marries Italian and Japanese flavors, delivering a creative and surprising culinary experience with every bite.

Due to the impact of Typhoon Saola, the Observatory has indicated that higher tropical cyclone warning signals may be issued on the afternoon or evening of September 5th. To ensure everyone's safety, please note the following changes to our operating hours:

📍 Caffe Milani Tsuen Wan OP Mall:
We will remain open if the No. 8 Storm Signal is issued.
If the No. 9 or 10 Hurricane Signal is issued., the store will close immediately.
If the No. 8 Signal is changed before 12:00 PM, we will reopen two hours after the signal is changed. If the signal is changed after 12:00 PM, the store will remain closed for the rest of the day.

The store will close immediately if the No. 8 Gale or Storm Signal is issued.
