This past weekend, we traded our laptops for lifejackets and paddles as our team set off for an adventure! With so many new faces joining us in recent months, a team building was just what we needed. And what better way to bond than by working together on the rapids?

We had an incredible time rafting down the Una River, guided by our skippers. After a day on the water, we relaxed with a delicious dinner and partied at the beautiful Japodski otoci resort.

Yesterday marked the first day of school, and some of our DevCamp participants are back in the classroom! The Dev Track is already underway, and the QA Track just kicked off. While it's the second year of DevCamp at Pontis, it's the first year for the QA track.

We’re excited to watch our participants begin their QA journey, supported by mentors Ana, Dario, and Lana. Over the next 4 weeks, they'll learn more about testing methods, documentation, bug reporting, and tools essential for QA.

Yesterday marked the start of Pontis DevCamp — our academy for junior and entry-level software engineers!

This year, we’re running two tracks: DEVTrack and QA Track. The journey kicked off with DEVTrack, where 10 carefully selected participants will spend the next 6 weeks diving into database creation, building web APIs from scratch, and mastering the basics of object-oriented programming.

We’re thrilled to guide and mentor these budding developers as they take their first steps into the world of software engineering. Good luck everyone!

As Pontis continues to grow, we are excited to announce some organizational changes: we are forming a management board with two new members!

Along with Nataša Zec, who remains the CEO and President of the Management Board, the first new member is our CTO Dijana Perić! Dijana has been with Pontis since the very beginning, first in the role of Head of Engineering and now in the CTO role. She is also currently pursuing her Specialist Study degree in Information Security, which will be of great importance to the company.

The second member joining the management board is connected to our development of the AI department, which is of strategic significance for Pontis. To make sure our AI team becomes the best, we brought in the big guns. We are more than happy to announce our new team member - Aleksandar Raic!

Aleksandar has joined the company today, stepping into the role of a member of the management board in charge of AI, R&D, and Partnerships. Aleksandar’s most recent engagement was with Infobip, where he held the position of VP of the AI division. His extensive experience in AI transformation and background in the insurance and pharma industries will be invaluable as we continue to pursue innovation and growth within our company.

We promised more information on Pontis DevCamp, and we’re delivering!

After last year’s software development track, this year we’ve added another one – QA track!

We will dive deeper into the QA role and their responsibilities in the team using tools like Jira, Postman and Figma.

We will go through manual testing for web and mobile apps, learn how to report bugs, and also explore different testing methods.

On June 14th, as part of International Staff Week, our Project Manager, Benjamin Kardum, had the honor of presenting a lecture on "Project Management Tools and Workshop," hosted by the Confucius Institute at the University of Zagreb.

With 30 participants from across the European Union, he explored the fascinating connection between the construction of ancient Egyptian pyramids and modern project management principles. Using storytelling, Benjamin delved into the Golden Triangle of Project Management, visualizing project activities, and the importance of preserving project artifacts.

He discussed the significance of effective communication and collaborative platforms, sharing practical examples.

The lecture also touched on the evolving role of project managers in an AI-driven era, with demonstrations of AI-supported project management tools for more efficient ex*****on of results. Benjamin's interactive approach and workshop-style presentation made the session engaging and highly informative.

Yesterday, we had company in our company!

As sponsors of the TVZ Mc2 competition, we have hosted students from TVZ and our Lucija Đurković and Domagoj Hrestak held a workshop for them!

The topics were PR, CI and CD and after that, we all hung out with pizza and darts.

Not a bad way to finish a day of learning.

The topic of our newest session was Emotional Intelligence and all things it encompasses. 🧠

During the session, we talked about the key components of Emotional Intelligence, why it matters (both at work and in other areas of life), and explored ways to improve our emotional awareness and interpersonal skills.

The fact that people are obsessed with walking uphill as an activity will for some more time remain a mystery, but we can definitely tell you that some Pontis people are among those.

Yesterday, we had our second Pontis hike and this magnificent seven conquered the trail to the mountain lodge Runolist.

After some sweating and scenic views, the reward was waiting for us at the top in the form of piletina, mlinci, štrudle, some tasty rakijas, playing Alias and of course good company.

Our dynamic duo consisting of Lucija Đurković and Domagoj Hrestak held a workshop at JobFair FER!

Participants divided into groups heard a lecture and then had some practical interactive learning on the topic of PR, CI and CD.

We hope this hands-on approach gave you a glimpse on what it feels like working on a project when you’re in Pontis! 👨‍💻

Last week we teased you, but now we’re delivering – Pontis Technology has acquired ! 🍀

One of our strategic goals for this year was further expansion of Pontis through the acquisition of existing companies. After countless meetings with dozens of companies we finally realized we have found what we were looking for.

Clover Studio is a global expert in mobile, web design and development working with a range of companies from Japan to California.

Somehow simultaneously with the celebration of our second birthday, we obtained a company that has been on the market for 15 years which just shows how good our work has been.

What we achieve with this kind of acquisition is the diversification of our client base, greater competitiveness on the market as well as gaining new expertise.

One of the main reasons we searched so long is because we wished to find a company which shares the same values and culture as Pontis. For us, it is extremely important to maintain the culture we are building and ensure that it is not damaged in any way.

And after jointly celebrating our second birthday party we can say that we have definitely found our match on all levels.

The full integration of Clover Studio into Pontis will last for the next few months, during which Pontis will fully take over Clover, Clover's employees, clients and projects.

And to our new colleagues – Welcome aboard, it’s going to be an incredible journey!

April 11th is National Pet Day and coincidentally, a week ago, we (and by we, we mean Pontis) got ourselves a new team member!

Meet __________, our Pontis hamster! The blank line isn’t here by accident, it’s just that we still haven’t agreed to a name for him, so everybody calls him with their favourite name.

He, on the other hand, doesn’t respond to any of the names, but, oh well, we guess he’ll figure out what he likes to be called sooner or later.

But until then, we got sure he has plenty of food and water, a spinning wheel so he gets enough exercise, and most importantly, a place to lay his hamster head and relax.🐹

We’re officially 2 years old! 🎂

A lot has happened in these two years and we aren’t here to blow our own trumpet, so we would like to use this opportunity to thank each of our employees for making this story a success story and for believing in what we believe.
