The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Zagreb was founded in 1919, and since then has been the leading institution in education, science and expertise in its respective fields as well as aviation in Croatia. Its mission to follow the principle of innovation as the essential factor for scientific research as well as education of future professionals capable of active and successful lifelong learning has made us proud to be a part of it.

We therefore would like to extend our sincere thanks to FAMENA, who have not given up their hope in our success and have given us the space and the education to further promote our ideas on many different national and international scales. The Faculty’s trust and support is something which is deeply rooted in our spirit to strive to do better time after time, along with expanding our team and gathering the brightest minds in the country at our humble abode.

Members of the FSB Racing Team visited the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović. During the conversation, we discussed the team’s contribution to promoting Croatia and the University of Zagreb through performances in Formula Student competitions across Europe, as well as the decision to stay in Croatia after completing studies. The President expressed his support, stating, “If you choose to work in Croatia, that’s great news.”

Founded in 1996 with headquarters in Zagreb, AVL Croatia operates as a member of AVL List GmbH. As a strategic partner, they are primarily focused on software production, electrification, and the creation and implementation of software solutions for simulation, testing, and optimization of various propulsion systems for both passenger and commercial vehicles.

The culmination of this season was undoubtedly the competition, which took place right on our home track.

We were not just thrilled but genuinely overjoyed to be a part of this event, and we're absolutely delighted to share that we accomplished our most impressive result this season – securing a remarkable 5th position overall in the electric vehicle class.

What made this event even more extraordinary was that we had the privilege of showcasing both Ta**us and our driverless car, VulpesD.

Our entire team demonstrated nothing short of sheer excellence. They poured their hearts and souls into this endeavour, and their relentless hard work and unwavering dedication paid off in the best possible way.

With this resounding success, we had the honour of closing the season of FS competitions on the highest of notes.
It was an extraordinary week brimming with happiness, boundless joy, adrenaline and a lot of heat. Ta**us exhibited its remarkable prowess on the track, and it was an absolute joy to witness. 🏎️⚡️

This past week was a truly remarkable chapter in our journey, highlighted beautifully by Ta**us' performance on the track.

We blitzed through scrutineering, setting the stage for Ta**us to show the world what it's made of. And what a show it was; we successfully completed all dynamic events, culminating in a spectacular Endurance run. Despite our best efforts and a podium-winning time courtesy of our drivers, mechanical issues led to a DNF in post-scrutineering.

Off the track, the rest of the team aimed to ace the static events. Their dedication and hard work were evident in the results, which remained strong or improved on our FS East placements- a small taste of what is yet to come.

Though we have much to be proud of, we also have many lessons to learn and lots of feedback to reflect on- and we'll make sure it isn't lost on us. One final chance to test our mettle awaits, our home event - . Bring it on! 🏎️⚡️

What a week we've been through! Competitions are always fun, but being in the pits of the Hungaroring made it a truly special experience. Though we were itching to put our foot down, pedalbox issues got in the way; we had to settle for passing scrutineering. Regarding static events, we can happily announce we attended the Cost finals. With the rest of the season still to come, we'll keep our head down and keep pushing- with everyone's hard work, we're confident things are about to take a turn for the better.🏎️⚡️

Unfortunately, we didn't manage to pass Battery scrutineering due to few issues we had. Regardless that, FS Easter gave us the opportunity to show new team members what competition looks like and we are grateful to all scrutineers and judges for their help, feedbacks and knowledge we gained during these 3 days.

We are delighted to present you one of the first companies that supported our Driverless project - FRAMOS.

They have generously provided us a FRAMOS D435e stereo camera for environment perception.

It enables us a color and a depth image of the environment which we use to find the cones - their color and distance from the camera.
More precisely, we run our neural network on the image to find the cones, and afterwards we use the obtained information to map the environment.

Without the donation of FRAMOS, our car wouldn't be able to recognize the surroundings and the cones.

Ta**us brings every lesson we've learned in these past twenty years to life in a dazzling display of performance.

PS - yesterday we celebrated 27 years of Croatian Student Association of Engineering Faculties 😉

Technology and innovation have always brought people together.🦾❤️

This year we participated in Maker Faire Zagreb festival at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum. The festival took place on October 1st and 2nd, and was attended by more than 150 exhibitors with 60 different projects. We displayed our last car with IC engine, the beautiful StrixR and attendees were delighted to see it 🏎
