When analyzing pull requests on GitHub, code written by women was approved 78.6% of the time. Code written by men was approved 4% less often.

However, when women made it known they were female, their code approval rate plummeted to 62.5%, a study shows.

Workplace bias towards women is just as relevant as in 2016 when the study was first published.

It was present in the 19th century when Ada Lovelace made strides.

Today, we celebrate the legacy of the world’s first programmer and the brilliant women who code in her footsteps. We see and appreciate your impact.
