's space adventure has come to an end, as C3S Electronics Development LLC's 3U CubeSat satellite VIREO (Virtual Intelligence Realization for Earth Observation), launched on 15 April 2023, completed its mission on 7 August.

The mission's aim, which was unique on an international scale, was to use and extend artificial intelligence's in-flight processing capabilities in space. Several space experiments were carried out on board VIREO, but the most exciting for us, of course, was the integration of our NPU for automotive neural networks, aiWare, into the satellite.

This solution was then used to process image data captured by the satellite's cameras in space using AI-based image processing algorithms. This demonstration was also an innovative technology transfer, as we sent an automotive hardware accelerator into space - which proved that it can easily overcome any obstacle, whether on Earth or in space.

Big news again: our AI Researcher team’s work on “Controllable Neural Reconstruction for Autonomous Driving” will be featured at the SIGGRAPH Conferences Technical Papers sessions in Denver (28 July –– 1 August)!

What a way to start July: our aiSim 5 simulator has achieved ISO 26262 re-certification from TÜV Nord. The certification emphasizes the simulator's physics-based aspects, complete determinism, and adherence to an end-to-end ISO 26262-compliant development process. aiMotive achieves ISO 26262 ASIL D re-certification for aiSim 5 aiMotive, a global leader in automotive simulation technology, has obtained ISO 26262 certification from TÜV Nord for the latest generation of its simulator, aiSim 5. Originally granted in 2020, aiSim was the world’s first simulator for ADAS/AD to achieve this certification!

Our AI Research Scientists made waves at CVPR in Seattle! At the conference, they presented aiMotive's demo, 'Controllable Neural Reconstruction for Autonomous Driving,' showing how we leverage cutting-edge neural rendering technology. Thanks to the advanced research at aiMotive, our aiSim simulator is already ahead of the curve, being a very early adaptor of NeRF and 3D Gaussian Splatting based environment reconstruction.

We had back-to-back discussions with engineers and researchers from more than 50 companies working to solve the validation challenge of automated driving. We have also received many inquiries about using aiSim for scientific research at universities. Since we understand the importance of knowledge sharing and cooperation, we have recently launched an aiSim Academic License Program – welcoming universities and researchers to participate in developing tomorrow's simulation technology.
