Film Dokumenter Climate Witness merupakan dokumenter singkat yang mengisahkan 4 (empat) tokoh yang telah melakukan aksi iklim di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Aksi tersebut mereka lakukan dengan kesadaran penuh untuk memperbaiki lingkungan menjadi lebih baik.

Dampak perubahan iklim yang mereka rasakan sangat nyata, seperti hilangnya mata air, berkurangnya sumber pendapatan, dan polusi pantai akibat sampah plastik yang tidak dikelola dengan baik.

Para tokoh ini adalah Sang Pelopor yang melakukan aksi menjaga lingkungan melalui menjaga sumber mata air, membudiayakan pangan lokal, melakukan peningkatan komunitas, serta mempraktikan hidup ramah lingkungan sehari-hari sebagai yang dapat mereka lakukan karena mereka

This exhibition will showcase Tegallalang artists’ artworks and processes along with the research results from Savitri Sastrawan. Tegallalang, where RAD resides, is home to skilled artists and artisans. It all started with observing the area with their well known carved wooden sculptures, which up until today still continues, moreover into “carved” aquarium paintings. With Savitri Sastrawan’s research commissioned by RAD starting November 2023, this showcase is hoped to form the definition of visual vocabularies that are growing in this side of Bali and how they attain approaches that are sometimes acknowledged as an “outsider” in the contemporary art ecosystem for many years.

Ripples: Dialogue in the Flux of Artistic Creation

Every existence is intertwined with each other, forming a continuum of influence and consequence. Actions, words, doubts, and even silence all touch and intertwine with the life around us. In these interactions, actions and silences resonate through a vast network, which in turn influences an artist’s work.

This exhibition features artists, who pursue diverse artistic trajectories, challenging conventional standards, and pushing the boundaries of representation to explore new territories in painting and sculpture. The concept of ripples can be interpreted as a metaphor for shifts, movements, and journeys that originate from various directions. Each artwork captures the movement of the artist’s soul, resulting in creations that challenge the boundaries of absolute representation. The term “ripple” is used to describe the inherent plurality and motion of these phenomena.

The works in this exhibition offer an exploration of self and style, as well as a radical codification of “chaos” and a shift away from traditional representation through their respective styles. The artists and their works epitomise the ripples—shifts, movements and journeys that are endlessly sourced from the fountain of life. The works are honest and bold, a product of the friction and development of Balinese identity over time, celebrating and reinterpreting modern Balinese art in all its manifestations.

Sonic Dissonance is a deeper look into the life and music of the Balinese composer Yudane. There will be readings and a concert showcasing the work of Putu Adi Septa, Janu Janardhana, Yogi Sukawiadnyana.

All are welcome.

Please join this Friday for this great (free!) event! As a Balinese and an architect, Yoka Sara explores the connection between culture and structure. Balinese elements have been a unique characteristic of his works.

One of Yoka’s most meaningful works was in 2006, when he was entrusted by his community to restore their Bale Banjar community hall, making him the fourth generation of his family to work on Gerenceng’s Bale Banjar.

Yoka Sara’s last architecture projects were designing Byrdhouse in Sanur and installing the Mataya Gate in Bali’s International Airport for the G20 conference. In 2013, he initiated the Sprites Art Biennale, a place for artists and creatives from all over the world to meet and create together.

In the Guest Artist discussion at Threads of Life Gallery Lungsiakan, Yoka will talk about his projects and his 30 years of experience in art and architecture.

In the beginning of March Tonyraka Gallery started with new spirit, we held a preview to the exhibition *”TRAJECTORY OF PERCEPTION”*, curated by Wayan Seriyoga Parta and Savitri Sastrawan.

This exhibition involves 24 cross-generational Balinese artists, with variety of artworks (two and three dimensional), presenting the Chronicles of Balinese Contemporary Art latest developments. This exhibition is held in two spaces, Tonyraka Gallery and Bersama Art Project.
