🇮🇩 The sworn-in President Prabowo Subianto has brought the long-discussed North Bali Airport back to the forefront, advocating for a second airport to ease reliance on the main airport in Denpasar. He emphasized that any new development would align with Balinese values and preserve local architecture.
However, Bali Tourism Board Chairman Ida Bagus Agung Partha Adnyana disagrees, stating that the project is not urgent. He believes Bali should focus on managing tourist behavior and promoting growth beyond South Bali, suggesting that the airport proposal could wait until tourism is more evenly distributed across the island.
Meanwhile, the Bali Hotels and Restaurants Association is calling for the airport’s development as Denpasar’s main airport approaches capacity. With expansion options limited due to traditional sites and natural barriers, North Bali Airport remains a key alternative for Bali's future.
🤔 What do you think: Is a second airport necessary for Bali?

🇮🇩 Prabowo Subianto inaugurated as Indonesia's new president!
Prabowo Subianto, who secured nearly 60% of the vote in the February 14 election, has officially assumed office as the president of the world’s third-largest democracy. The inauguration ceremony took place on October 20 at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta.
"I swear that I will fulfill the duties of the President of the Republic of Indonesia to the best of my ability and with fairness," Prabowo declared during his oath. "I swear to uphold the constitution, fully enforce all laws and regulations, and remain loyal to the homeland and the nation."
At 73, the former military commander—once facing unproven allegations of human rights abuses—has undergone a remarkable transformation, rising to power on promises to combat corruption and strengthen Indonesia’s self-sufficiency.
Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, son of former president Joko Widodo, was also sworn in alongside Prabowo. Both the president and vice president will serve until 2029.
Bali Protects Green Zones with New Building Moratorium 🚧
Starting this October, the Indonesian government is set to introduce a moratorium on construction in Bali’s green zones. Over the last 20 years, unchecked development has caused the island to lose 57% of its rice fields.
✅ This initiative is designed to preserve Bali’s beautiful landscapes and curb illegal construction, particularly in areas like Denpasar, Badung, Tabanan, and Gianyar, also known as "Sarbagita" region.
⚠️Important: This is not a complete halt on all development. The focus is on stopping permits for new construction in protected green zones in order to stop overdevelopment.
The moratorium will last 3 to 10 years and bring stricter regulations, especially for agricultural lands.
This is a vital step toward protecting Bali’s natural heritage and ensuring sustainable tourism for the future! 🌏✨

The installation of automated gates (autogates) at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali has been completed.
The autogates were introduced in phases across the arrival and departure halls of the international terminal, and now the entire system is fully operational, making travel easier for tourists.
🛬 60 autogates in the arrivals hall
🛫 30 autogates in the departure area
The Directorate General of Immigration, Silmy Karim, told reporters, “As one of the main gateways for Indonesian tourism, the average international arrival at TPI Ngurah Rai Airport reaches 18,000 – 21,000 people per day.”
“With the autogate system, the immigration inspection process only takes 15-25 seconds per person. This is a significant breakthrough to make the immigration process more efficient and streamlined.”
✅ All travelers aged 6 and above with an eVisa/eVOA and biometric passport can now pass through passport control using the automatic gate by simply scanning their passport.
For those who prefer not to use the autogates, staffed immigration counters will remain open as usual. These counters will also serve those who have not obtained an e-visa.

The Special Class I Immigration Office TPI Ngurah Rai conducted an operation in the Canggu area to identify violations committed by foreign nationals.
"The purpose of this operation is to target foreigners suspected of engaging in work activities without the appropriate permits," explained Ngurah Rai Immigration Head Suhendra.
During this operation, the team conducted searches at 15 locations in the Canggu area, including beauty salons, tattoo studios, car rental services, and more, resulting in the detention of 10 foreigners. Upon investigation, four individuals were found to have committed no violations, while the remaining six were found guilty of immigration offenses, specifically engaging in activities not permitted by their visas.
Most of the foreigners were holders of investor visas, which do not allow them to work in Indonesia. Currently, these six foreigners are still under investigation by immigration authorities. Further actions, including potential deportation, are being considered.
"ITAS Investor visa holders must focus on investment activities and are not permitted to work in any capacity within Indonesia," stated Pramella Yunidar Pasaribu, Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
The immigration authorities are also investigating how these foreigners were employed, and action will be taken against salon owners if it is found that they hired staff illegally.

🇮🇩 On August 17th, Indonesia Celebrates Its Independence Day
On August 17th, 1945, Indonesia took a bold step toward freedom, breaking away from centuries of colonial domination. This day marks not just independence but the unity and strength of an entire nation.
Every year, the nation bursts into color with the iconic red and white flag, a symbol that traces its origins to the Majapahit Empire. These colors—red for courage, white for purity—echo the essence of Indonesia’s spirit, representing both the physical and spiritual unity of its people 🙌
Independence Day isn’t just a public holiday; it’s a nationwide celebration. From lively parades to traditional games, Indonesians of all ages come together to honor their heritage. The highlight is the grand parade in Jakarta, where the President, Vice President, and other leaders gather, with millions tuning in to watch live broadcasts.
As night falls, the skies are set ablaze with fireworks, a fitting end to a day filled with pride, history, and hope for the future✨
The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office has urged the public to remain vigilant due to the last situation👇
It has been discovered that fake WhatsApp contact numbers have been inserted into the address information on the Google Maps pages of several immigration offices.
Specifically, the number 081230030440 was found on the Google Maps pages of multiple immigration offices. The Google My Business feature, which allows users to edit business information, is suspected of being misused by irresponsible individuals.
✅ All users are advised to always access official immigration service information through the official channels and social media of the Directorate General and Immigration Service
Dear Valued Customer,
We would like to inform you that our Canggu office will undergo maintenance starting on August 19th for 7 to 10 days ⚒
✅ You are still welcome to visit our office, although there may be some inconvenience.
Additionally, starting on August 16th, all passports from the Canggu office will be temporarily transferred to our Kuta office for safekeeping🤝
Therefore, please request passport delivery or pick-up from the Canggu office at least one day in advance 🙌
We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused and will notify you when the maintenance is complete❤️
