There She Gose by
The first sour beer in our lineup! Available in our tapwall starting today ✨
“A Gose is a German style sour beer made up of wheat and barley malts. It is light-bodied, fruity, and has a touch of salinity to compliment the tartness. The Gose was one of the first beer styles I fell in love with. I love that it’s tart but not puckeringly sour, which makes it so easy to drink. Over the years, we’ve made Gose with various fruit additions, but for this month, I’ve decided to go with passion fruit. I find that the citrusy sweet and sour notes from the fruit compliment the style well”
Meet Liz ✨ our education partner, teacher, and she is the spotlight brewer for the month of August!
“I’ve always enjoyed pairing my meal with a drink but beer was never in the picture until I met my now husband in 2017, who convinced me that there’s a beer style I’d love. Much to my surprise, there really were hundreds of beer styles to try. Throughout our travels, I’ve been able to try many of these styles and I’ve come to love sours and farmhouse ales, amongst others. In 2018, I started sitting in on Leon's brewing sessions and eventually stood up and helped. It wasn’t long before I was making my own beers.
While the beers are a fun part of the journey, equally as important is the collaborative community that surrounds the scene. I hope to share more on what I have learned and grow the appreciation of a well-made beer”
One of Izzy’s signature beer is available on BEND tapwall now!
“A Blonde ale can be anywhere from pale yellow to a crisp gold with good clarity. Its birth was likely a lighter version of pale ale, which was roughly brewed in half of the 1800’s and called a dinner or sparkling ale. Blond ale tends to have a combination of fruity and hoppy, low to moderate malty aroma. When I first brewed this style, I found it a tad too crisp and dry to my taste, so I improvised it by adding a touch of lactose to soften the mouth feel, which also complimented the malt flavour. That’s how my own style of blonde ale was born, and named it Milky blonde”
Meet Izzy, our highlight brewer this month ✨
“I started drinking craft beer when I first got my hand on Hitachino Nest White Ale at a bar in Melbourne. It was an eye-opening experience, I didn’t know beer could have so much flavour. Coincidentally not long after that my friend invited me to a craft beer festival, which sealed my love for drinking craft beer. My journey of brewing beer began in Jakarta, due to its limited choice of craft beers. I thought why not try making my own beer, so I bought a brew-in-a-bag beer kit from overseas. My first attempt was a success, the second not so much. Feeling disgruntled, I started researching more about brewing to find out why I had failed. As a result, what started as just for fun became a full-blown hobby now.”

February Beer Reveal : LADY GREY
Available on our tapwall
“A Grisette is a type of ale made with a large portion of wheat, fermented warm with a mix culture of yeast and served relatively young and unaged. It was a style originally brewed in and around the Hainaut province of Belgium for miners in the 1700 - 1800. The name Lady Grey came from the definition of Grisette which meant little grey, which some interpret as the ladies who were serving these miners wearing grey coloured attires. I fermented this beer using two separate strains of Belgian yeast that I chose for its balance of citrus and earthy spice notes. It's a light ale with a mild citus aroma, fluffy and biscuit maltiness, slight bitter edge with a dry and short finish.”
Next as the highlighted brewer for February edition : Kenny.
We asked him about how he got started doing what he does :
“My love for craft beer started during my studies in Melbourne. It became sort of a hobby to go to all sorts of bars and breweries to try a variety of styles. But it wasn't until I came home to Indonesia and started brewing that a whole new world of knowledge and appreciation came.
From learning and researching beer styles to brew I became fascinated towards how beer had sort of been a catalyst for human civilization. I was intrigued by a lot historical and obscure beer styles from many parts of the world.”
As the name implies, beard beer from Rogue is a beer brewed with wild yeast cultured from the BEARD of their then brewmaster, John Maier.
It was reported that Maier has not shaved since 1978, so it was not much of a surprise to discover natural yeast ideal for brewing on his beard.
Each month we will highlight the rebels in the craft beer industry, the ones with extraordinary wit to create avant-garde beers, those who go the distance in experimenting and making jaw dropping creations!

Isaac’s pick for this month : HAZY!
At first we thought it’s because he has brain fog, but we counted his beer consumption the past month, it’s true — 90% indeed were hazy beers 🍺
Hazy beers are characterized with strong aromas, cloudy appearance, and fullness in flavor!
Featuring Island Brewing Small Hazy, Brewdog Hazy Jane, and Little Creatures Hazy IPA.
January beer reveal🍻
Banu’s Es Teh is now available on our tapwall!
“As the name suggests, Es Teh was inspired by the humble iced jasmine tea we often have as our go-to drink in warungs/restaurants. I wanted to replicate that same refreshing, simple, yet aromatic sensation but in beer form. It became an instant favourite amongst my friends I think mostly because it's fun to taste something so familiar in such a different format.”
