Last night our U12 Girls travelled to play InterClonakilty AFC in our last league fixture of the West Cork Schoolboys and Schoolgirls League and although having shown vast improvements from the first encounter the home team won 1-0.
It was a tough encounter against the league leaders with both teams playing some lovely football.
Both sides had chances with Izzy Ross, Lilyrose O'Donovan, and Katelyn Coppinger going close with shots on target but it was inter Clonakilty who managed to slot one of their chances to take the game in the second half.
Some great performances all round with Emily being outstanding in goals, Ellie and Annie in defence with Ciara going well in midfield.

This morning our Juniors team welcomed Skibbereen AFC WCL to Lisheens for the second match of the recently started West Cork League.
The lads went in down 2 nil at the break after conceding 2 goals early on and the match would end in a 3-1 win for the away team with Rovers sole goal coming through a well taken penalty from Eoin in the second half.
Whilst the result wasn’t in our favour there is a long season ahead and with a lot of new players on the team they will only be improving.

The fightback started with a first half goal from Kai Moloney straight from a corner.
The second was scored by Jack O'Kane after amazing dribbling and skill from Ruairi O'Donovan on the left wing.
Last goal was scored by Christopher O'Flynn after more wing work from Ruairi and an assist from Charlie Clifford. Some important saves from Oran Quirke near the end to keep on level terms.

On a very cold and relentlessly wet Thursday evening our U14 girls welcomed lyrerovers to Lisheens for a West Cork Schoolboys and Schoolgirls League match.
Although the weather conditions were terrible both teams displayed some very skilful and entertaining football with our girls playing very positively from start to finish.
We took the lead from a beautiful through ball from Sara, finding Michaela who made no mistake with a clinical finish to the keepers right.
There would be plenty of chances for both teams to come but both keepers were on top form and it would end in a 1-0 win for the home team.
All of our girls showed great commitment and special mention for Ellie who stepped up from U12’s to help us out.
Great credit to both teams and to the supporters who braved the weather and great credit also to Referee Ciarán Cronin who on a bad night was able to let the game flow fairly.

The u 13 boys premier team stepped out this evening against Clonakilty AFC in what turned out to be a great evening of football.
Rvs took an early lead through a great long range shot from killian o sullivan but were soon pegged back by clon who equalized soon after.
The boys stepped it up again and 2 more fantastic strikes from killian and another powerful effort from eoin hickey made it 4-1 at the break.
The boys kept plugging away in 2nd half but weren't able to add a 5th.
Clon got another and applied some pressure at the end but the game finished 4-2.
Motm was killian o sullivan, with calvin o brian, sean o sullivan and fionn wiseman as star players.
Well done and thanks to clonakilty for travelling and the reff also and to our sponsors Designs & Signs
