The President, Committee and Past Pupils are saddened to hear of the death of former pupil, Fran Nolan. Fran was very well known in rugby circles having been a former President of Leinster Rugby Referees and former President of Greystones Rugby Club.

The President & Committee are saddened to hear of the passing of Norman Di**le who taught in Pres Bray during the 70’s and 80’s.

Norman was a character who wrote several books for the Leaving Certificate Curriculum in both Irish and French.

Norman attended the beatification of Edmund Rice in 1996 in Rome where he was heard to describe the monastic accommodation where he was staying as ‘rustic simplicity’.

We pass on the condolences of all past pupils to his family and friends. RIP

The Union is saddened to hear of the death of Colin O'Mahony this morning. Colin graduated from Pres in 1988 and his brothers also attended the school.

Our thoughts are with Colin's family at this time.

Success is bittersweet for Wicklow family who lost Dad to cancer at 50 When the Bray-based company, Property Button, won the PropTec Award at the National Property Awards 2024, it was described as a “bittersweet moment” for the family of the firm’s owner, Jim Urell, who are from Kilcoole, County Wicklow. The PPU is saddened to learn of the death of Tony (Anthony) Dalton, father of past pupils Paul, Richard and Colm Dalton, who attended Pres in the 1970s and 80s.

Growing up in Bray I had the privilege of living next door to the Dalton family. Tony was more than a neighbour, he was a friend and mentor too, and up until he became ill in recent years it was always a pleasure to have a chat (usually about Manchester United) whenever I was back home visiting my parents.

Tony was a great supporter of rugby in the school, both during and after the times his sons played JCT and SCT rugby with distinction.

May he rest in peace.
