Update on Carlow clinic from Dr Brenner.
I’ve been back working in General Practice to help the COVID effort since mid-March, and will be continuing this work over the coming months to help support the ongoing healthcare needs. We expect to be busy with seasonal flu and catch-up work as a result of the restrictions that were in place over the past months and I want to play my part in this. I am also continuing my teaching role with Allergan.

Unfortunately this has an effect on our aesthetic clinics, and this means we will not be reopening the clinic in Shamrock Plaza in Carlow.
I know this will be disappointing news for many, and we have greatly enjoyed working in Carlow for the past 5 years.
At the moment we have a small number of appointments available at our Newlands Cross Manara clinic. We will be sending emails to all our patients. You can also send an enquiry email to [email protected]

We hope you and your loved ones are keeping safe and well. It has been a challenging time for everyone, maintaining social distancing and adjusting to the COVID guidelines. I’ve been back working in General Practice, doing remote phone and video consultations and it’s busy!
We are closely watching the COVID updates, and hope to have a limited number of appointments available over the coming weeks, subject to the ongoing progress in flattening the curve.

It won’t be quite “business as usual’, however. We will be taking lots of extra measures such as telephone questionnaires before appointments, temperature screening and provision of hand sanitiser and masks, limiting the number of appointments per day, and enhanced cleaning between people, amongst others.
Our staff will be following all guidelines and will be wearing PPE.

I hope you’re all staying safe and well at home. Although these are worrying and challenging times, it’s heartwarming to see so many people pulling together and offering a helping hand to their communities.
I’ll be chatting to Brendan O’ Connor on RTÉ One radio tomorrow at about 12.15 pm. We’ll talk about COVID-19 and healthcare staff returning to the frontline.
I’ve returned to full-time General Practice, and am getting to know many new people at Gorey Family Practice!
I’m missing our lovely Manara staff and patients, but hopefully we’ll be open again over the coming months.

An update from Dr Brenner-As the outbreak of COVID-19 continues to spread we have decided to postpone all appointments at both our Carlow and Dublin clinics.
We don’t take this decision lightly but believe this is a necessary step we must take to protect the safety of our patients and team.
We are sending texts and emails to cancel appointments, and we will make contact to reschedule appointments as soon as possible. We are following updates on a daily basis.

We understand and share your concerns about the Corona virus and would like to explain our policies here at Manara.
We take the responsibility to protect your health seriously.
Hygiene is always our number one priority, and you will see us washing our hands and using alcohol hand sanitisers before and after every patient, as we normally do.
We will ask about foreign travel when you book your appointment, and whether you have been in contact with anyone with COVID-19.
Please do not attend if you feel unwell with respiratory symptoms, such as cough, fever and shortness of breath.
We will ask you to use hand sanitiser on entering and leaving the clinic.
We use sterile dressing packs and sterile dermal fillers and injectables.
We have private waiting rooms to minimise risks.
Please do not bring children to your appointment.

Today was an amazing, inspiring, and wonderful day with Allergan, Inc. and Dr Mauricio de Maio, renowned plastic surgeon and educator.
As part of the Global mentorship program I had the privilege of small group teaching by creator of the MD codes, and mentor, Dr .
I am truly honoured to have this opportunity to learn, develop my skills, and continue my lifelong study of anatomy and clinical care.
As Henry Ford said “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.”
