Miss Eimear Carey (1st Degree) & Miss Caitlin Kenny (3rd Degree) presented with their official International Taekwon-Do Federation Black Belt Certificates.
We had a fantastic time at this past weekend's ITA Summer Camp in Midleton College!
It was a great event, with participants from Ireland, Slovakia, Norway, and England joining us. This camp was a fantastic opportunity to learn from some of the best coaches and Masters in Ireland.
Our sessions covered Sparring, Patterns/Technical Disciplines, and Self Defence, all taught with the highest calibre of instruction you'll find anywhere in the world.
The summer camp also provided a wonderful opportunity for friendships to be strengthened, with fun and games like basketball and soccer offering some downtime between sessions. Not to mention, pizza night and the Euros final for all the enjoy.
A huge thanks to the ITA for hosting such a great event. We’re already looking forward to next year!

🌟 Black Belt Attitude and Mentality
Achieving a black belt isn’t just about mastering techniques; it’s about cultivating the right attitude and mentality long before stepping onto the mat for any test. The journey to black belt starts with a mindset of perseverance, respect, and dedication.
Mentality Comes First:
The true essence of a black belt begins in the mind. It’s the unwavering commitment to show up, work hard, and push through challenges, even on the toughest days.
Attitude is Everything:
A positive and respectful attitude is the foundation of Taekwon-Do. Black belt students lead by example, demonstrating humility, respect, and support for their peers. This attitude sets the tone for their training and influences everyone around them.
Beyond the Belt:
The principles of a black belt mindset apply to all areas of life. Whether it’s school, work, or personal goals, having a black belt attitude means striving for excellence and never giving up.
✅ Start Today:
You don’t need a black belt to start thinking and acting like one. In facts it's a necessity you develop this attitude before you become one. 🥋✨
🌟 The Journey from White to Black Belt 🌟
Meet Sophie and Brajan, who began their Taekwon-Do journey as young white belts and have now grown into competitive Black Belts at the national and international levels. 🥋
The transformation from white to black belt is more than just changing colors; it’s about growth, resilience, and unwavering dedication. Here’s why this journey is such a worthwhile use of time:
1. Discipline and Focus:
The rigorous training instills discipline and sharpens focus, skills that are invaluable both in and out of the training hall.
2. Confidence Boost:
Each belt earned is a milestone that boosts self-esteem and confidence, helping students face challenges head-on.
3. Physical Fitness:
Regular practice builds strength, flexibility, and overall fitness, promoting a healthy lifestyle.
4. Mental Toughness:
The journey involves overcoming setbacks and pushing through tough times, building mental resilience and grit in a safe environment.
5. Lifelong Friendships:
Along the way, students form bonds with their peers, creating a supportive community that lasts a lifetime.
6. Leadership Skills:
As they advance, students often take on mentoring roles, developing leadership skills that benefit them in every aspect of life.
Sophie and Brajan's journey from white to black belt are just two examples showcasing the incredible growth and the countless positives that come from dedicating oneself to Taekwon-Do.
The benefits are endless, and the rewards are priceless. 🥋✨
Taekwon-Do is a discipline that requires dedication and consistent effort to achieve success.
What you put in, you get out!
✅ Train More ➡️ Get Better
✅ Compete More ➡️ Get Better
✅ More Effort ➡️ Get Better
This is one lesson from Taekwon-Do training that expands across all aspects of life. Don't expect incredible results from mediocre efforts.
It's been a long journey. Here's Eimear as a Yellow Belt and now as a Black Belt in Taekwon-Do.
She has put in a tremendous amount of work, especially over the last 6 months, giving it her all. She has taken it on herself to do extra practice outside of classes with her training partners.
Eimear also regularly helps the young kids in the club.
A Black Belt attitude is needed long before stepping on the floor for any Black Belt test.
Congratulations on your journey, Eimear! It's only just starting 🥋🌟
🎉 Huge congratulations to Eimear Carey on being promoted to 1st Degree Black Belt and Caitlin Kenny to 3rd Degree Black Belt! 🥋🌟
This is a massive achievement, reflecting years of hard work and dedication to Taekwon-Do training. Well done, ladies! 👏
Martial Arts is an individual endeavor 🥋
While we need training partners for some aspects of training we do not need them for all aspects!
✅ Improvements in physical abilities that will benefit your progress across various areas of Taekwon-Do can be worked on alone.
Everyone wants to move to the next level but not everyone is willing to put in the effort required to get there.
Flexibility, leg strength, technical improvements on patterns and more, can all be improved outside of class time!
A new tag or belt isn’t automatically given with the passing of time, it is earned through improvement and each person will progress at a different rate.
Everyone has equal opportunity to climb the hierarchy, but whether or not you ascend is up to you 🥋 An important lesson for all aspects of life 💪
🎉 Congratulations to Caitlin and Eimear on passing their pre-lim black belt test! 🥋🌟
The girls now advance to the ITA Black Belt National testing. Keep up the fantastic effort! 👏
🌟 Join us in sending the best wishes to Miss Caitlin Kenny & Eimear Carey as they embark on their pre-liminary Black Belt test this Saturday!
Miss Kenny will be testing for her 3rd degree Black Belt, while Eimear Carey aims for her 1st Degree Black.
🥋💫 Let's show our support and encouragement for these dedicated martial artists as they reach for new heights in their Taekwon-Do journey! 🎉👏
🌟 The highs and lows in competition teaches our kids invaluable lessons in resilience, perseverance, and character development.
Every win and loss is a chance to grow stronger and more determined.
💪 Keep pushing, keep learning, keep growing! 🥋
🏆 RITA ITF Ireland Cup Review: 🇮🇪🏆
🥇🥈🥉 Congratulations to our small, incredible team for their outstanding performance at the RITA ITF Ireland Cup! With just a handful of competitors, we brought home an impressive haul of 6🥇, 6🥈, and 7🥉 medals putting us in 5th place in the Overall club standings.
We had some strong performances from all our students regardless of results. We're incredibly proud of everyone who stepped up to the challenge and tested their skills. Here's to many more successes ahead! 🎉👏
⭐ At our Taekwon-Do school, we understand the importance of developing our students' confidence and empowering them to face challenges with courage.
We know that many children come to us because they are shy and afraid of conflict.
💯 That's why we believe that Taekwon-Do training is so important for them.
✅ It gives them a sense of empowerment and helps them develop confidence 💪.

🤔 "My Child Always Comes Out Smiling After Class But Wants To Quit" 🧐🧐
✅ Here's the truth: it's often the battle of getting them there that's the real challenge.
They're having fun with friends or lounging at home, and the thought of leaving for training feels like a chore.
Plus, let's face it, kids these days aren't always fans of hard work. But here's the kicker: once they're here, they're loving it!
So, next time your little one mentions quitting, dig a little deeper. Sometimes, what seems like a lack of enjoyment is just a case of short-term thinking.
💪Let's help them see the big picture together. The benefits from long term commitment to Martial Arts training is one of the greatest gifts you can give a child.
WHAT TO SAY IF YOUR CHILD WANTS TO QUIT TAEKWON-DO 👊🥋
Child: “I hate Taekwon-Do, it’s boring, I don’t like it, I want to quit.”
You: “Okay, you can quit, but not today.”
🤔 Ever wondered why this matters?
When something feels hard, our brain and body resist because they want us to be comfortable. But if we quit on a bad day, we may never discover our true potential and might regret it later.
So, here’s the deal…
❌ You can’t quit… but on a good day.
🌟 When you have a successful day and still want to quit, let’s talk.
This approach normalizes struggle, which is the secret ingredient to building resilience. It honors their choice to explore other interests but only after they’ve experienced the best that Taekwon-Do has to offer.
Remember: Never quit on a bad day!! 💪🌟
Share this wisdom with other parents who may need it. Let’s inspire the champions of tomorrow! 💥🥇
🥋👊 What to Say if Your Child Wants to Quit Taekwon-Do 👊🥋 Child: “I hate Taekwon-Do, it’s boring, I don’t like it, I want to quit.” You: “Okay, you can quit, but not today.” 🤔 Ever wondered why this matters? When someth…
⚠️Beware of Irish Summers 😅☀️
As a young kid, I was on the brink of giving up Taekwon-Do. At the time, I was a Blue Belt, and like many Irish kids, the allure of long sunny evenings spent outdoors with friends was hard to resist. ☀️
The thought of trading in the training hall for the open air seemed like the obvious choice. But thankfully, my parents saw the bigger picture, as they often do. 🙏
They recognized the value of perseverance, commitment, and the long-term benefits that Taekwon-Do offered beyond just a sport.
⏩ Fast forward 25 years into my Taekwon-Do journey, and I'm grateful every day for their foresight. What initially seemed like a temporary sacrifice turned out to be a foundation for resilience, discipline, and personal growth.
Now, as an instructor passing on the torch to younger generations, I understand more than ever the importance of consistency and dedication.
Taekwon-Do isn't just about mastering kicks and punches; its true benefits are unlocked with long-term commitment. ✨
It's about building confidence, character, and resilience - qualities that can only be cultivated through perseverance and dedication.
☀️ So, as the warmer weather approaches and outdoor activities beckon, let's remind our kids not to give up when the sun shines but to embrace the discipline and growth that Taekwon-Do offers, rain or shine. (The dark, cold & rainy nights won't be long coming back 🤣)
How does training in Taekwon-Do help build self esteem in children? ⬇️⬇️
I see it time and time again, a shy young kid comes to our classes to gain confidence within themselves.
It is great to see the transformation in children from when they first join to a few months/years later, it's incredible.🙌 ⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Where does this develop from?
⭐ Our programs are designed to continuously challenge students in a safe environment.
With this comes evidence that they can overcome any challenge with the correct attitude and mindset.
Confidence is essentially based on evidence.
✅ Those who consistently challenge themselves gradually build more self esteem to go conquer any challenge that comes their way.
It's fantastic to see the difference in some children who walk through our doors following this process and this certainly spills over into life outside the training hall. 💪
How it started ➡️ How it's going
We provide an environment for young kids to develop and grow into strong, confident young individuals....
However there are 2 key steps which are non-negotiable for this to be possible ...
1 - Everyone must be a White Belt at some point - Every journey requires a starting point .
2 - You must Persevere - Those who stay will be rewarded! The true benefits are all long term. You must be in it, to win it as they say 👍
The path is laid out for those who take the first step and stay the course ✨
