Yesterday we guessed the moisture content of logs;... today we got the results from the oven tests (red number on logs).
After 11 years at this we all agreed that we keep doing oven tests so we can continue producing good, WFQA certified Cotter Bros Firewood. that can give you a fire with temperatures oven 1000 degrees 😋

One stack is fully covered and we have begun covering the stack we are currently filling. Time-consuming (3 men, two crane trucks, 2 days), expensive but essential if we can get those logs under 20% in a reasonable timeframe.

So we are finally back on the road since Wednesday and thankfully we are flying through the deliveries. We will be working straight through the weekend and hopefully will be up to date with deliveries by Thursday next.
Yard will be open from 9 to 6 tomorrow again to facilitate collections.
Thanks to you all for your patience and good wishes. We have been busy getting logs into the shed and delighted to get it in dry and tested at 20% Kiln Dried Standard!
Weather looking awful and we are feeling very lucky to have a good supply of dry firewood in the sheds 😀

Just a reminder we are open tomorrow 9am to 6pm for firewood collection.
We will be closed on Monday while we cover a stack of logs and road will be blocked all day.
We would encourage people who urgently need firewood to call to the yard tomorrow and remember cash or cheque as our card machine is broken. If you really want to use your card please buy online and bring your receipt! Anna 😀

Customer Notice.
The gearbox in our delivery truck gave up which means we didn't get any firewood delivered this week.
We are hoping to restart deliveries on Tuesday morning 🤞.
To mitigate this huge delay we are going to keep the yard open tomorrow and Sunday from 9am to 6pm if customers wish to collect firewood -
bring cash or cheque as card machine is not working.
We are sincerely sorry for the delay and inconvenience this is causing and we will be running the truck 7 days a week (2 drivers) until the backlog is cleared. Thanks again for your patience, Anna.

We're delighted to take delivery of a new (30 year old) teleporter which will mean quicker loading times for customers calling to the yard for firewood.
This will improve efficiency and customer service 😀 👍🏻 😉.
