Working from home - pros and cons
In the current times we are in, it has become the norm for many of us to both work and live in our home environment and with that comes both advantages and disadvantages 😊
On the plus side, by cutting out travel time, we can get that extra hour in bed or spend it with family. It also allows us to be more flexible, we can be anywhere there is WiFi to work, which lets face it, it’s pretty much everywhere so location possibilities are endless!! 😁
On the other hand, our mental health has taken a bit of a beating trying to adjust to what is now considered the “new normal”. By having limited social interactions outside of our family and friend ‘bubble’ and the lack of a set routine, our social skills and ability to switch off from work are severely impacted.
Whether thriving or struggling working from home, one thing that never fails to help is getting that heart rate up! Get up off your chair and get outside for a walk, a run, a sea swim, kayak, whatever works for you and bring along a friend to make it more enjoyable!! 😊💪🏼
Online Wellness Success!!!!!
Here is our coach working with one of our companies online this week.
It’s great to see companies continuing to support their employees health and well-being programs as we continue to await the full return to office for many.
These programs play a massive part in supporting people’s well-being and overall, have a very positive effect on everyone involved.
We are delighted to partner with
Ballyphehane/Togher Development Project. Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds, Heathy Clubs. Sports Ireland.
We will be in on Saturday if you would like to join us for workout.
Looking forward to seeing you all then 😊.
The Ladies from The Irish Country Woman’s association after one of our fitness classes last year in Douglas Community Centre.
Senior citizens were one of the hardest over the last year and a half with Covid resections.
Having to cocoon for many months during the pandemic, which can lead to inactivity, isolation and loneliness.
We are looking forward to getting out in the community again and helping to get people active and socializing.
Having a weekly event such as a fitness class can serve as a bridge for people to reintegrate into society.
Health Check!!!!!!
At One Arena we provide a compressive range of tests for males and females relating to the risk of health, bones, muscles and general health.
We look at the measurement of physical characteristics such as height, weight, body mass index and blood pressure.
Here is a list of what our In-Body machine can carry out:
Body Composition Analysis
Muscle Fat Analysis
Obesity Analysis
Segmental Lean Analysis
Segmental Fat Analysis
Body Composition History
Body weight is the sum of Total Body Water, Protein, Minerals and Body Fat Mass.
To stay healthy, you must maintain a balanced body composition. This machine will help determine how strong your body is with its muscle-fat analysis. It is an easy way to target if there are any imbalances of muscle or fat distributed around the body with the segmental lean/fat analysis.
Your results will be logged into your app, so make sure that you use the InBody periodically to monitor your progress.

Where it all started
Here is a video of a fitness class I ran in 2014 with .marketplace
They were the 1st company I ever started working with. I ran two successful fitness classes a week for a year and a half before I had other commitments in a new position and I gave the program to a then colleague to continue.
Once I moved into .claytonhotelcork I started to work with more companies, mainly , , EY and Jacob’s Engineering.
As we grew we saw the need to provide a lot more than just fitness classes. We started proving support and guidance through workshops, seminars and health screenings.
We now deliver wellbeing programs to some of the biggest companies in Ireland, with a compressive range of wellbeing programs.
I have been lucky enough to meet and work with some great people over the years. The whole team at is super excited to get back on site with companies in the coming months.
After a hugely successful month of outdoor training, this week we move back indoors and reopened our club for the 1st time in 2021. I am delighted to say we will be continuing outdoor training throughout the summer.
The last year and a half have forced us all to continuously adjust our normal routines and way of living.
For us a business and providers of health and wellbeing services it has been no different.
For the companies and teams we work with, we look forward to bringing you here over the coming months.
We may not be back to the offices yet but we can still work out together. Team bonding is more important now than ever before. With no specific dates for the return to the office given and with Covid 19 still here bringing all the challenges with it, Our outdoor training programs provide a great way to build rapport, engagement and to have overall healthier and happier people in the workplace.
Is this something your company would be interested in?

The best way to go about improving a skill is to set goals and monitor these goals. Goals provide you with a ‘map’ to reach your final destination (long term goal) with pit stops (short term goals) along the way. That is, you have your ultimate (or dream) goal but to reach it you must break it down into smaller steps.
So what are SMART goals?

🚨Do you drink enough water?🚨
-
🎯It's easy to forget to drink water when you're busy but it's important to pay attention to what your body is telling you.
If you are thirsty, fatigued, have difficulty focusing or have a headache, your body is trying to tell you it's dehydrated.
First step, drink a glass of water and keep re-hydrating throughout the day.
-
📝 Tips to increase your daily water intake
• Drink a glass of water before meals
• Drink Herbal or Green Tea
• Add citrus flavours to water with slices of lemon or lime
• Eat fruit & vegetables with high water content
