Nicola Olyslagers
Olympic Silver Medalist in High Jump (Paris & Tokyo)
“I just decided to pursue God over sport, and whatever comes with sport is a bonus but I’m already complete and perfect and loved regardless of it. And that’s just allowed me to soar over every high jump bar and not be scared anymore because I’m loved and that’s the most important thing”
The new football season is underway and as a team of volunteer sports chaplains serving across football clubs in Northern Ireland we look forward to journeying alongside , encouraging , listening , supporting and praying for and with everyone in our clubs ⚽️
Our prayer for the new season…
Heavenly Father,
We thank you for the gift of football and the opportunity to come together to serve everyone in this great game. ❤️
We pray for our players. Thank you for the skills and talents you have given them. We ask that you would protect them as they compete and that they will become sound in body mind and spirit. ❤️
We pray for our coaches and staff. Give them wisdom as they lead and serve their teams. Help them instil in their players a love for the game and a desire to play fair ❤️
We pray for our referees. May they be wonderfully appreciated and respected as individuals and valuable to not just our game but to each of us. Grant them guidance and wisdom as they officiate each week and may they too enjoy the game ❤️
We pray for our Administrators. Give them wisdom to listen well and to lead well. We pray you will give them grace and strength as they help build good relationships across the game developing a spirit of respect and sportsmanship.❤️
We pray for our volunteers and fans . May they know the appreciation of those they come to serve and cheer on and may they enjoy the game and always support their teams gracefully, regardless of the outcome.❤️
Finally help us remember that no one game is more important than the relationships we build with each other . Help us all to be gracious in victory and humble in defeat .❤️
In Jesus name we pray
Amen
🙏
