The Society of St. Vincent de Paul - Ireland - St Vincent De Paul 01/12/2020

This year, St. Vincent de Paul's Annual Appeal was launched on Wednesday 18th November. Ryan Tubridy, SVP'S ambassador and made this video stating how important it is now more than ever to support people who are experiencing poverty.

Rose McGowan, SVP National President said that between January and early November almost 112,000 requests for help had already been received. Low income families are struggling to keep their heads above water with an unstable housing market, high childcare, energy and education costs. “With Christmas approaching we expect that number to increase substantially and exceed 160,000,” she said.

Please give what you can to this very worthy cause. To donate, you can use the link below.

There is a huge stigma in society around people who are experiencing homelessness. Homelessness is NOT caused by the individual but by society. We will be posting more about this throughout the week.

Survey on Homelessness 18/11/2020

Hi everyone
We have created this short survey to get an idea of how people in society view the issue of homelessness. This survey is completely anonymous, so your details will not be shown to us and responses cannot in any way be traced back to you. There is only four questions, so if you could take a minute to complete the survey that would be great. Thank you!

We are a group of first year Social Care Work Students in CIT who want to raise awareness for homelessness and poverty in Ireland. Each week, we will upload a video from well known charities along with information and facts about homelessness and poverty in Ireland. As well as this we will also be organising and uploading details of events so that people can take action and get involved in our campaign. We really hope that we can get your support and help those in need. It’s time we make a change and speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves.
