Not many people are aware of this protest but rural communities are in full support of the request by MLSA to have meaningful discussion with the HSE and solve this dispute. This strike action will effect patient care in a hospital setting.

Rural communities again being let down by many public bodies. We are being driven from the landscape and the pressure that many families are experiencing in trying to survive is not being recognised as a genuine concern in rural Ireland. Time for a full disclosure on what really happened to this project after thousands and thousands of euro being spent on reports to public bodies and legal firms

Best wishes for the new Year and we all hope that rural communities will be recognised by government and supported in planning policies which are currently being discussed by local authority members. Traditional settlement patterns are part of our culture and historical past and Rural families never look for any planning favours but do ask that our youth and the next generation are supported in building their family homes 🏡

Great to see ordinary, local people and their contribution to rural communities being mentioned in the farmers journal this week. It MIGHT be a Christmas miracle that rural housing is now being recognised for what it is. Family homes in a rural settlement and not developer led housing in a flood plain.

Hi All
Just to keep you all up to date regarding SORC we are having a meeting as agreed with the Planning policy unit of Cork County Council tomorrow at 3.30 pm
Please see attached introduction and Agenda for discussion at our meeting where we will be exploring some solutions with Planners
The County development plan process will provide communities a voice in where they would like to see planning policies support the local need for Housing and other developments in their region. It is very clear from all the statistics that we need to mindful of the fact that population decline and the loss of services to support employment will need to be addressed and agreed solutions supported by both Government and our local Authority. We are not looking for any planning Favours but a clear understanding of a planning policy that will be supportive in our youth and the next generation having the opportunity to build a family home in Rural West Cork.
