Friendly Reminder 😀 now that silly season is over all cancellation policy’s are back in place 👇

Our contract agreement at Mackeys Fitness.

Our main goal is to provide the best possible service to our clients. Mackeys Fitness works on an appointment based schedule to allow you the time required for your training session. Session’s will generally be 30 minutes (both PT & classes). Please be on time for your appointment, if you are late for a session it will still end at the schedule time. if you are more than 10 minutes late for a session it will be considered a no show and you will be required to pay the fee for the session.

Due to this schedule it is important that you give us sufficient notice when you need to cancel an appointment. This means a cancellation should be made 12 hours before a scheduled appointment. Failure to cancel a training session within this time will result in you being charged for the session.

If the situation is completely out of your control please do not hesitate to contact me directly and I will do my best to reschedule your session within the same week.

All packages have an expiry date once you start. For example if you sign up to a 4 week package you have 4 weeks from your first session to complete unless otherwise agreed with your trainer. If you do not make contact with your trainer to freeze a package because of illness or injury it will automatically expiry on the original end date.

To all of my returning clients and the new ones I’m yet to meet face to face I can’t thank ye enough for the support and patience over the last few weeks.

Under government guidelines gyms are set to reopen on the 7th of June 🤗 however unfortunately some other things are completely out of my control and I will not be ready to open the doors here just yet 😔

We have been working really hard behind the scenes to open the studio and will be doing so as soon as possible 💪 Again thanks so much for all the support and patience 🙏

To burn the candle at both ends means to exhaust oneself by working too much, going to bed late and getting up early.To do more than one ought to; to overextend oneself.

𝕊𝕠 𝕨𝕙𝕪 𝕕𝕠 𝕨𝕖 𝕕𝕠 𝕚𝕥 𝕥𝕠 𝕠𝕦𝕣𝕤𝕖𝕝𝕧𝕖𝕤 ?

That moment when you think you don’t have time to take care of yourself, is the exact moment you have to take care of yourself

Listen to your body, so you’re not forced too. Something I think we are all guilty of at times, we just keep pushing on until eventually our body forces us to STOP 🛑 we end up physically and mentally drained or exhausted.

Doing your best does not always mean running yourself into the ground. Life is all about balance - you don’t always need to be getting stuff done.

Sometimes it’s perfectly okay, and absolutely necessary to shut down, kickback and just do nothing 🙂

I changed direction in my fitness journey last June, just before Lydia launched her new venture of Mackeys Fitness. A few buddy sessions where Lydia allowed me to trial out what was then only a few dumbbells and a barbell, quickly led to me signing myself up as her first client. A new squat rack, boxing bag, set of battle ropes, and lots of shiny new things (that I’m yet to get my hands on) later, I’m still here progressing and having more fun than ever!

As a person who has major comfort zones and craves routine with little change, Lydia has had a special influence in changing my mindset piece by piece to welcoming challenge and variety. I no longer, for the most part, get overwhelmed with the introduction of new ways and means! Lydia’s motivation and passion in this industry is infectious. I have always been a person who has enjoyed training as a hobby and have trialed most styles out there. I have such relief in finally finding my forte from the encouragement of an exceptional coach! I can genuinely say I skip into every session, and leave with a (sweaty 🥴) smile on my face.

Feeling like you might of overindulged on all things nice over the long weekend 💭

Don’t let the guilts get the better of you! One weekend “off track” isn’t going to make a huge impact or ruin the progress you have made so far

Our bodies are amazing and can bounce back fairly quickly after a few days “out of routine”

Instead of making any drastic changes to your usual week, just get back to BASICS;

* Drink water - if you’ve been drinking alcohol, eating foods rich in sodium or just not focusing on your water intake, your likely dehydrated

* Nutrition - DO NOT skip meals, jump right back in to your usual routine of eating nutrient dense foods and remember food is fuel

* Sleep - you have probably been up later than usual or not getting enough quality sleep, so get back on track with your sleeping habits

* Exercise - no need to do anything too extreme, get outside for a walk, get back into a regular workout routine the first session might be a little tough but you will feel so much better after it

* Be kind to yourself - that one weekend is nothing in the grand scheme of things and after a couple of days back to routine you will be feeling 100% again
