John Spillane will be releasing a recording from his stunning live show with the Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra that he performed at last years Right Here Right Now Festival

Back in November 2021, I played a gig in Cork Opera House with my good friend Pauline Scanlon as part of the Right Here Right Now Festival with a live orchestra. That gig was recorded. I am delighted to announce that we are going to release the recording of that concert, the first single of which is out this Friday. 'The Dance of The Cherry Trees' turns 20 years old this year and I cannot think of a better way to celebrate it. Out this Friday 29th of April, 'The Dance of the Cherry Trees - Live with the Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra. Over in Coughlan's Live over the weekend, we had 2 of the most gorgeous gigs with amazing artists, and lovely people Lorraine Nash, Míde Houlihan and Caoilian Sherlock. Another reminder, if one was ever needed, that the city and county are awash with a serious level of talent...

Huge congrats and best of luck to former RHRN headliner, Mr Jack O Rourke on the release of his brand new album 'Wild Place' today. Go check it out, it sounds super gorgeous, as we knew it would.

Here's a little throwback to when Jack wowed us all with his tune 'Shining For You' with Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra in Cork Opera House a few years back...

We absolutely ❤️ Junior Brother who is an absolutely unique, superb talent with loads of humour and character in his lyrics and music. The man himself is playing with Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra on Saturday 13th, and we CANT WAIT to hear him with an orchestra.

This is one of our all time faves 'Hungover At Mass'.....we've all been there....

A little throwback to February 2020, when we had one of the most magical moments of music since the Festival began. An original Cormac McCarthy piece - 'Nostos' with the Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra, and with soloists Johnny McCarthy on flute, Lucia MacPartlin on fiddle, Maria Ryan fiddle and the man himself Cormac McCarthy piano.
This was one of those moments of pure beauty that live long after the performance has finished.

We absolutely can't wait for more magic moments with the Orchestra next weekend, with Mary Coughlan, Wallis Bird, Loah and Niamh Regan on the Friday night, and John Spillane Scanlon and special guest ,BROTHERS on the Saturday night.

We absolutely ❤️ this pic, along with the cracking setlist John Spillane has lined up for this!

Well I turned 60 this year lads and my musical career seems to be blossoming. Now there's a new exciting buzz happening. I'll be performing 10 songs with a full live orchestra in the Cork Opera House supported by Junior Brother on Nov 13th.
Here's me with my first band Bootlace: me, Dave Murphy, Niall Marron and Tony Buckley in Bishopstown, Cork in 1977.
I started writing songs when I was 16. My first song was called The Leaves Are Golden Brown, I've written about 200 songs and an opera since then. What a laugh. I had fun picking out the songs I think will be most suited to the orchestra for the big night and I can't wait to hear the orchestrations! These are the ones I've chosen. What do you think?
See ye all there there on Nov 13th.
