“Hi I'm Muriel and, more importantly, I'm from Cork. I turn 30 this year and instead of having an expensive party and getting gifts, I wanted to do something different while raising money for a worthy charity at the same time, “Cork Penny Dinners”.

- What was the nicest dare you got asked to do?

I was asked to pay for someone’s shopping or lunch in front of me at a checkout, so I did this as my first dare as I thought it was the nicest one to start with.

Congratulations to our Competition winners: Louise O'Sullivan and her husband Sean who won a VIP One Nights Stay in the Hayfield Manor Hotel with B&B & Dinner! ⭐️

Our runners up are Caoimhe Granleese and her husband Stephen who won a dinner for two in the Hayfield Manor Perrott's Garden Bistro!! 🎉

Louise O Sullivan (pictured with husband):

"Our Cit love story began 20 years ago. I was working with the Student Support Team when I spotted a handsome West Cork boy on the Sigerson Team! After offering my support on the sidelines on plenty of cold days I eventually secured a date but as we were not meant to date students it was low key! Thou I often joked he was only after me for the free canteen dinners! Needless to say, Sean got distracted with the Tipperary Girl and in true CIT style.. the lecturer rang his mother to say he was neglecting his studies !! Thankfully both the studies and the romance survived and we are now living in West Cork happily married with 4 children who hopefully someday will also study in CIT!"

Caoimhe Granleese (pictured with husband & kids):

"Ahh Stephen Granleese we met at a class party in JD styles (you need to be 30 plus to know that pub 😂). We went on to Club one for a dance and then you chased me for a few weeks till I agreed to a first date! One wedding, 3 babies and 15 valentines later we are still going strong ❤️ here’s to the next 15 and a night in the hayfield manor"
