Bruac is our Education and Training Center that caters for girls who have experienced barriers to Education. It offer full time, part time, and drop in classes.

We had a lovely evening last night at the Lord Mayors Civic, Community and Voluntary Awards. We were lucky enough to get to the final 3 in our catogery. A big Congrads to SHARE who won our catogery and to all the winners on the night. A special mention to the Ukrainian Choir Kalyan who won the over all award. It was great to see one of our learners from Bruac who is a member of the choir there representing the choir

Countless women, children & families have been supported by the Good Shepherd, through Edel House, and support work for homeless people across Cork.

Today I meet Charlotte O’Dovovan of Good Shepherd at a briefing on food poverty in Buswells Hotel.

It is sobering to consider the challenges so many families face in emergency accommodation, and the difficulties in simple things like being able to play.

Putting a roof over people’s heads is an important first step but we cannot rest at that, these families need to be provided with a home.

We see the adversities they face; the challenges of living in a homeless hostel, prejudice, the difficulty of raising their children, whilst trying to give opportunities. Well done. Be proud of every day that you show up, and be especially proud of the days that are difficult, yet you still show up. We are privileged to share your journey at this time in your life, and encourage you to keep up the excellent work!.

Yesterday at Cook and Share, our talented cooks were at it again, we made Thai Chicken Curry, and a vegetarian version also! We also recieved a stunning apple crumble and chocolate cake dessert from one of our staff..... but it didn't last long enough to get a picture!!!!🙂 Thanks to everyone that helped and came along for the chats! 🥰

Happy Galentines day to all our staff, especially those who are working tonight in our residential services, away from their nearest and dearest!

We had a beautiful Galentines lunch together earlier. it was lovely to sit, relax and have the laughs and chats! We catered for those of all faith and none, as we recognise that not everyone observes Ash Wednesday, which also fell today! Thank you all for coming, for helping and for sharing your time! Time is such a valuable gift and to share it with others is appreciated so much. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Happy Birthday to our wonderful founder, Sr. Colette Hickey, who turns 106 today! Sr. Colette still keeps a gentle watchful eye over us, and loves to hear all our news! Have a lovely day! 🎂🍰
