What are hair extensions? Hair Extensions are made up of individual locks of 100% human hair. Why get hair extensions? This is very important.
At the tip of each lock is a thin sheet of keratin, the same component that naturally makes up our own hair. This keratin is specifically shaped to bond to your hair with simple, perfect applications, and the color of the keratin matches the color of the hair lock for a completely invisible look. And, because of the keratin method uses individual strands of hair (rather than a weave or a hair piec
e), your hair has 360 degrees of movement for easy management and a totally natural flow. People get hair extensions for a variety of reasons. The most obvious may be to add instantaneous length to your hair. Hair Extensions are also perfect for people with thin hair who want to add volume and thickness, or for those looking to add highlights or dramatic color without damaging their own hair with chemical treatments. Hair Extensions are a popular choice with everyone from expectant mothers worried about chemically treating their hair, to those looking for that instant glamour that has been Hollywood celebrity’s best kept secret… until now! How many strands does it take to do a Full head of extensions? It generally takes between 100 and 150 strands to complete a full head of extensions depending upon the look you are trying to achieve and the length and volume of your own hair. What should I do to prepare my hair for having extensions applied? Your hair should be extremely clean and dry. Shapmoo your hair the day before with a clarifying shampoo. DO NOT put any product or conditioner in your hair. Clean, dry hair allows the keratin to make the best possible bond between the extension and your own hair. How long does it take to apply extensions? Again, depending upon the look you are going for, extensions for a full head will take between 1 and 3 hours to apply. How long do extensions last? Because of the unique keratin bonding system which attaches the extensions to your own hair using natural proteins they normally last 3 to 6 months. Wow! So how do I take care of my extension As the hair I use are only 100% natural human hair, so this means you can wash, style and even color your extensions just like your own hair. /No bleach/
Really? I can wash and condition my hair like I normally would? Yes, with just a few simple modifications. First and foremost: NEVER turn your head upside down and agitate or rub your hair, whether you are washing or drying. This will lead to unruly tangling. To shampoo, while in the shower, apply shampoo to the top or your head and, using a gentle, stroking motion, work the shampoo from top to bottom. Rinse using the same technique. Again, DO NOT turn your head upside down. Next, apply conditioner from the middle of the hair to the end using the same gentle stroking motion. With the conditioner still in your hair, comb it out with a pick comb, then rinse. Towel dry your hair using a blotting motion. DO NOT RUB! Then, we recommend you use a good spray on detangler, combing it through with a pick comb. Now you’re ready to style using your favorite products. What kind of shampoo and conditioner should I use? Any professional quality shampoo and conditioner should work well. My head is uncomfortable when I’m trying to sleep. Is this normal? Yes, some people experience some discomfort as they adjust to having the extensions. But this should be mild and generally only lasts a day or two. Some extensions are starting to fall out. What should I do? Over time, there will be a loss of some extensions. This is normal. We lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day as part of our natural shedding process. Some of those hairs will have extensions attached to them, so over time, some will naturally loosen and come out. Wearing your hair in a ponytail occasionally while you have extensions can help prevent tangling and may add to their longevity. How are extensions removed? Your extensions should be removed by your salon stylist. Using a special solution which crystallizes the keratin bond, your stylist has a special implement which then slides the extension off with no damage to your hair.
