A beginning to a new week,
But an end finish to this lovely family home 🙂

This kitchen was hand painted before… so naturally all brush strokes were sanded and replaced by a stunning sprayed Matt finish . In my own ever popular Tír Conaill grey. A completely modern look to a 25yr old kitchen.. I painted the walls ceiling and woodwork also. So now this lovely family can enjoy years of satisfaction. It’s really no wonder why smaller type businesses don’t survive.whenever you post a story or a reel you get 100s of views but no comments shares or tags. It’s more likely that social media in general isn’t about a healthy strong business community, but rather a way for the bigger boys to buy your content (unbeknownst to yourself) sell it on to advertisers then try to sell the ideas back to you again. In the form of pop up adds and many other ways these algorithms try to entice you.
I’m too long personally in the game, to know that word of mouth holds more value than these platforms trying to extort money and ideas from you.
It may be just as convenient to go back to the old ways of doing stuff. There’s way to much ridicule and judgments within these platforms i feel at times. Everyone is trying their best, to succeed daily to make a living. Why should these media outlets gain at our expense and the expense of others?
This isn’t a rant. Quite the opposite in fact so the next time something pops up on your timeline, read it , then choose whether it’s worthy of a review a share or like ,as these places at times can be a den of negativity when it fact we’re all trying our best at any given time 🙂

This is my own new mix colour, a sultry white/grey with some creamy hues coming through. So if you don’t like white or grey but like a warm neutral with a modern twist even on older furniture and the like’s Tìr Cónaill grey is that colour . Photos of complete project to follow soon enough 🤙

Sprayed this sitting room unit way back in 1991 fast forward to ⏭️ 2023 and it’s sprayed in a more modern shaded white from the F&B palette. Looks and feels amazing ✔️

After 38yrs in the manner of WOODSPRAYING and finishing paint techniques and technologies have changed dramatically since I first started. Old school values haven’t changed though and I like to think it’s a major part of trying to keep a small business going. Today’s Tidings 👍

They’re certainly making it more and more disheartening, and difficult with the rising costs of raw materials and the like’s at the moment.

Trying to be competitive and professional in these current times take’s a lot . An €18 euro increase in one particular type of chemical in under a year takes the biscuit. Not alone sanding costs and other paint materials. Unfortunately there’s no sign of prices coming down either. The skills required haven’t changed and still every days a school day to learn somthing new, and be humble enough to do so. But it’s a massive kick in the liathroid trying to accept that multi nationals and the bigger boys continue to make massive profits at the expense of us mere mortals trying to keep a family and household supported and comfortable.
That’s my sixpence worth on this wet Wednesday morning.

Amazing what a change of colour does. This kitchen was previously sprayed with high gloss clear coat. It took some time to prepare properly and apply this velvet finish onto it. New handles and worktops put the finishing touch to it.
