Our under 14's had their last training session tonight before the Christmas break with a very festive kick about. Many thanks to coaches Keith Porter and Thomas Given for organising it and to DGL Security for sponsoring the selection boxes. It was this day last week that we did The Long Walk for Lorna. It was an amazing day!! We were joined at the start by some of Lorna's work colleagues in the pouring rain but that didn't dampen our spirits and we soon dried out again with the breeze coming up the road.
Five people completed the 50+ Km's, Reverend Richmond, his wife Janice, Linda Henderson, Sharon Porter and Thomas Given. We were thrilled to be joined by Harry and Ryan's team mates in Bundoran and other supporters of the event and by a lot more in Ballyshannon. This was a great help to the morale and got us over the last few Kilometres. Many thanks to everyone who came out to support and more importantly Donated.
The total amount raised has passed €25,000 but there is still time to donate to this amazing cause at the link below, let's get it over €30,000!!

Myself & Mary are the very proud parents ,our daughter Kelly is running Tomorrow Sat 26th Aug at 18.55 in the "World Athletics Championships" in
Budapest 🏃‍♀️🙌 Kelly is in the Irish 4x400 relay team !! There will be huge support from the Rambling House showing the race live on all the BiG Screens Tomorrow please come join us in cheering her on say the prayers light the candles all appreciated. 🙏🙏

In January 2022 Lorna Mahon was involved in a serious car crash which unfortunely left her with a life changing brain injury. Thankfully her three children, who were also in the car, have made a complete recovery. Two of them, Harry and Ryan, are members of Copany Rovers F. C. and are coached by our MD Thomas Given. Harry is part of the u-14 squad and Ryan has moved up to the u-16 squad this year.
On Saturday the 26th of August Reverend Stephen Richmond and his wife Janice are doing a 50Km sponsored walk to raise funds for the long term care of Lorna. The walk is from Sligo Hospital to Lorna's home in Ballintra. Thomas is joining them for the complete walk while all the boys team mates and coach Keith Porter will be joining the walk at some stage to show their support for the family.

To celebrate the fact that we at DGL Security have put our fourth van on the road, we have decided to donate €1000 to this great cause. We have decided to do this instead of running a competition for a free camera system as we would normally do but we will add the names of anyone who likes, shares and donates into our next draw at Christmas time. It was great to be able to help the Donegal Dragons and Dolphins yesterday in the Parade in Donegal Town. Donegal Dragons is a fantastic club set up by Deborah Bonner for Breast Cancer Survivors and Supporters. They operate from the pier in Donegal Town out into the beautiful Donegal Bay. Several members of my own household have caught the paddling bug, and really enjoy it !! Well done to all involved.

Well folks, I hope that you are all enjoying the football. Unfortunely we have to say goodbye to 16 names after round 3 of games. There has been a few shocks to say the least with some big names falling by the wayside like Tanya Doherty and Una Murphy and a few who must be delighted to make it to the last 16 like Andrew Cassidy, Gary Maxwell and Marie Mc Daid topping the group of death. It definitely is a funny old game. Check out the good and the bad news below. It is still all to play for. What a week of football!! Every team has now played 2 games. Amazingly only 3 teams are guaranteed to make it into the next round, Mark Gallagher, Denise Mc Gahern and Liz Carr. Unfortunely we have lost 2 people, Willie Irwin and Celine Mc Dermott, who cannot win our amazing prize of the CCTV system. We are absolutely delighted and humbled by the responce to our competition. Massive thanks to everyone who took part. We have finally got it down to the last 32 people. It was not as straight forward as we had hoped as some people forgot to follow our page and our post did not appear on everyone's timeline. As you can imagine this took time to check but it was important to keep it fair for everyone. Some people went stright into the main draw and we actually had a draw to fill the final places. Competition Time!!!

We at DGL Security are feeling absolutely brillant at the moment as we have added to our team once again. We welcome Shane Kelly, who has over 7 years experience in all types of security and specialises in gate automation. Shane is from Inishowen and joined the team in January '22, he is on the left in the photo below. We have also added Shane Healy to the team who has over 12 years experience in fire alarm installation and maintenance. Shane is from Ballybofey and came on board in September '22, he is on the right in photo. That means that between the 3 of us, we now have over 50 years experience in the Security Industry with Thomas Given, photo centre, making up the other 30 + years and having the grey hair to prove it!! We now have 3 vans on the road and cover all parts of County Donegal and parts of Counties Leitrim and Sligo.
To celebrate the ongoing growth of DGL Security we have decided to run a competition for a 4 x 5 MP camera system complete with installation and app on phone for remote viewing. This competition will run in conjunction with the World Cup. The first 32 people to follow our page, share this post and tag 2 friends will be drawn one of the 32 teams in the World Cup and the person with the team that wins the World Cup wins the camera system, its that simple. The draw will take place once we have our 32 names. If there are more than 32 entrants we will have a draw for a €100 gift voucher. We will also give the runner up a €100 gift voucher.

With the clocks going back an hour tonight I am sure that we all have an alarm, CCTV or door access system (either at home or at work) that is now running an hour fast or on the wrong time completely. If you need help adjusting the time or date on your system please PM us or give me a ring on 0873888178. For any CCTV system in particular it is very important to have the time and date correct when collecting evidence on shoplifting and other crimes.

Massive congratulations to Amber Barrett from Milford who has scored the winning goal, away to Scotland, to take Ireland to the World Cup. She then picked up the player of the match award and dedicated the goal and win to the people of Cresslough. Absolutely pure class. Well done from all at DGL Security.

It was a brilliant day at the DLDC"s Celebrating Donegal Business event today in the Clanree Hotel. Massive thanks to John Devine from Hikvision, who was at our stand all day, giving demonstrations on the latest technology available on CCTV systems.
It was great to meet so many people and to offer you advice on all your security questions.

• 70% of romance fraud victims are women
• Do not share personal details online
• Do not share or receive money online
• Investment fraud linked to romance fraud

As Valentine’s Day approaches, An Garda Síochána are asking members of the public to be vigilant of romance fraud as incidences of romance scams rose by 86% in 2021. Romance fraud happens all year round and not just around Valentine’s Day. More than 70% of romance fraud victims are women.
Romance fraudsters may try to get their victims to send them money using the following excuses:
• To cover the cost of travelling to see the victim
• For emergency medical expenses for the scammer or a family member — typically a child
• A business opportunity which would allow them to live together comfortably.
