Look what's just arrived. Looks amazing :-)
It is today! Hope to see as many people as possible call to the school between 1pm and 5pm. The weather is going to be super, let's make this a brilliant day to remember :-)
Not everybody will make it back to the school for the Open Day on Saturday, but that doesn't mean you can't have some part in it. Wherever you are in the world, why not take a picture of yourself now - with friends and family in it if you wish - make sure you say where you are and post a message for the school students, teachers and the school community on this special occasion. It only takes a few minutes to get the snap taken and posted and we'll display as many as we can on the Open Day so your message will make you part of the event. Please tag anyone you know who is away from home or share this with them and let's see how many messages we can get in 24 hours!
It was all go in the school today - great fun as everyone took part in a lip dub for fun as part of the 60th celebrations. Looking forward to showing it on Saturday.
Reese Laird 1st day of school ☺

Brilliant photo from 1983, some well known faces in there. Make sure you tag people now and maybe we'll see some of them at the school on Saturday!
Fun day this Saturday. Please, tag, like and share!
Please share this with as many people as possible so we can get a good turn out on Saturday. Don't forget if you have any old photos you can still send them on before the weekend! - http://www.donegaldaily.com/2015/10/13/super-day-of-nostalgia-planned-for-st-eunans-60th-anniversary-open-day/
SUPER DAY OF NOSTALGIA PLANNED FOR ST EUNAN’S 60th ANNIVERSARY OPEN DAY | Donegal Daily
Do you sing or play an instrument? There are so many past pupils of the school who are talented musicians and we'd love to have as many of you as possible around on Saturday to play some music. We already have a a few people lined up to give us a few songs - but why leave it to a few when there is such a wealth of talent? If you can attend Saturday's Open/Fun Day and are willing to play a few songs or tunes on the day, please let the school know - but if you can't - just turn up on the day and make it known then that you'll play some music, you'll get a slot for sure!
Cracking photo sent to us this week. Group taken in the school yard in 1961. Can anyone give us some of the names?
Former members of staff Master Gallagher and Mrs O'Longain. We're hoping some of the former teachers will be at the school to join us for the Open Day on Saturday.
I found this one in the Kelly photos ☺
Remember your old school desk? And how many sick days did you really have? There will be an opportunity to get your photograph taken with your friends or your family in an old school desk at the Open Day on Saturday 17th. A photographer will be there to take the pics and you can get the prints there within minutes. There will also be an opportunity to have a look at some of the old roll books. All former pupils of the school - as well as parents of pupils and former pupils - all former members of staff - indeed anyone with any connection to the school whatsoever over the years - is welcome to come along on Saturday. Please spread the word, let's make it a fantastic day.
UPDATED - Results from today. A good few names missing from these results, but race numbers and times are there if you know your number.
Results from the 5K
Some photos from the 60th Anniversary 5K run and walk, Well done to everyone who took part and a huge thank you to everyone involved in helping organise this event.
Not sure of the date this photo was taken, but saw Patsy Gallagher wondering in a comment on the page if there were any pics from way back to be found? Guess what we turned up! Here's Patsy, Patricia and Rose Gallagher all pictured at the school. Maybe they can shed some light on what year this was taken.
A fantastic morning today at the 5K walk and run. Thanks so much to everyone who took part and to everyone who helped organise the event. We'll have results and more photos on here later.
Lots of help still needed for the Open Day/Fun Day at the school on Saturday 17th October. If you think you can lend a hand why not contact the school and let them you know will be there to help - it would be hugely appreciated.
The school will get its flag and copy of the proclamation tomorrow morning at 10.45, everyone is welcome to come along.

A meeting will be held in the school on Tuesday night October 6th at 8.30pm for anyone who'd like to help out in any way for the Open Day on Saturday 17th. It's short notice and there isn't much time before the actual event - but the plus side is that means you won't be signing up for a long time on any kind of an organising committee - it will be just getting ideas together and putting as many of them as possible into action. Everything will be done and dusted in a fortnight! The launch day showed what can be achieved in a short space of time and there are lots of amazing people in this community who are past pupils or who are parents of past pupils who could surely lend a hand to make this a massive success. Don't sit back saying afterwards that somebody should have done something - you're somebody! Please tag and share and let's get a great team of workers together to make this work.
The first event of the 60th celebrations a family fun 5k walk and run. Everyone is welcome.
Some cracking old photos making their way to us - but there have to be so many more confirmation photos and communion pictures. We're hoping to have a big display in the school on October 17th so the more pictures we have the better!
This day last week there was a real buzz around the school ahead of the walk that would launch the 60th celebration. Those celebrations will take place in the school on Saturday 17th October. More details to come soon. We still want those old school photos and memories. Please ask anyone who went to the school to like the page to keep up to date with what's happening.
One of the things the students in St Eunan's NS have been doing all year is using the 60th anniversary as an opportunity for learning. An appeal went out earlier in the year for past pupils who are all around the world to send a postcard back to the school. Lots of people did that and the students have been marking the spots on the globe where the students are. They are doing the same with the different parts of Ireland and thanks to anyone still in Ireland but no longer living in Raphoe, who sent them a card. But there definitely are loads more - hundreds more that could come. Each card's arrival has brought great excitement so if you are no longer in Raphoe and haven't yet sent a card, or if you know somebody who was a past pupil who is away now, please ask them to send a card, it's a great way for them to make a connection with their old school.
This one from a little later, the 6th and some 5th class from in and around 1980.
Fantastic! Sent to the page tonight this super photo of the Hartes at St. Eunan's taken around 1966. There has to be so many more. Away you all go now to the attic or that big box of photos in the press...
