There are nearly 6,000 Ukrainian children enrolled in Irish schools. Myself and my friend Paul McNamee have decided to start a project together to share some free resources and training to support their wellbeing during this time.

I am facilitating one of our most popular courses “The Power of Special Playtimes” and donating ALL the money generated from it to UNICEF Ireland to aid them in their work supporting the children of Ukraine. I will facilitate the course next Tuesday, 15th March, for the normal fee of €30. This €30 will be a direct donation to UNICEF. “The Power of Special Playtimes”

This live online course will look at how we can make the most of a child’s most valuable toy, a willing adult. It is suitable for parents and carers and also for professionals working with children. The webinar will be facilitated by Siobhán Prendiville a highly experienced child and adolescent psychotherapists with a specialisation in play therapy. During the webinar we will:

💫Learn about the relational benefits of play.
💫Learn how to introduce, and experience play that will build healthy attachments and relationships.
💫Learn how to set up special playtimes.
💫Learn ways to maximise on the available time you have.
💫Learn how to integrate play and focused attention in your day and schedule.

The course is designed to equip professionals, and parents and carers, with helpful tools for the children in their care. It is ideal for parents, teachers, ECCE professionals , youth workers, social care practitioners and other professionals working with children.

New - Four Month Nature Based Parent and Child Mindfulness Programme

I'm excited to offer this brand new programme. Once a month for four months we will join together at Kilpatrick woods for a 2 hour Nature Based Mindfulness session. Nature connection, mindful practices, stories, creativity and play will unfold during these sessions.

Each month will harvest a new theme. The first month will focus on the Senses. The next will practice open awareness and feelings, with the following session inviting us to look at how Everything belongs and for our final session we will carry out practices that focus on Gratitude

The earth will nourish your heart and I hope that you will enjoy moments of shared delight and awe with your child. Looking forward to meeting you in the woods :)

We have one place available in our Early Learning Unit at the Shine Centre in Carriglaine for the coming academic year (Sept 21 to July 22). This is a full-time place of 20 hours per week and the child must have a confirmed diagnosis of autism to apply.
