Summer in Ireland means being prepared for every weather - jeans, bikini & always cashmere.☀🌧🌬

Bucket list destination - Chefchaouen is a city in the Rif Mountains of northwest Morocco. Known for the striking, blue-washed buildings of its old town, so why blue? 🔵

One story suggests that the Sephardic Jewish immigrants brought with them the tradition of painting buildings blue to symbolize the sky and the presence of God. Another version attributes the blue color to Jewish refugees who arrived in Morocco fleeing Hitler's advance through Europe. A third, radically different explanation claims that Chefchaouen became known as the blue city in Morocco to repel mosquitoes and prevent malaria.
