Fat Dissolving Injections
Aqualyx is a non-surgical fat dissolving injection treatment. The procedure uses a solution of deoxycholic acid, a substance naturally found in the gallbladder. It locally emulsifies fat which is then metabolised away by the body. Sometimes one treatment is enough, however, usually 2 to 3 sessions are required depending on the amount of fat to be dissolved. There is some transient swelling in the treated area as the body metabolises the dissolved fat cells. The effect tends to be long term unless you put on weight etc.

1. LIP FILLER CAN LOOK NATURAL
What comes to mind when you think of lip filler? Is it the overfilled pouts that inhabit your social media feeds? Well, lip filler — particularly, hyaluronic acid-based ones — can provide very natural results that simply enhance what you already have.

2. YOUR LIPS WILL SWELL Before getting lip fillers, you should know about the stages of swelling caused by them. During the first one or two days after lip filler injection, you may observe considerable swelling around the lips. Around the third day, you might experience bruising over the lips. You may also observe the formation of lumps inside the lips as well. However, this is not something to worry about, as these problems will go away by the end of the first week.

3. YOUR LIPS WILL PROBABLY BRUISE
Bruising and swelling are both common post-treatment. They usually last a few days.Ice packs are typically employed immediately after treatment to offset the impact, and oral and topical arnica may also help reduce the chances of bruising.

4. A FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENT MAY BE NEEDED
The process of plumping your pout for the first time is often a gradual one. I never want to over-treat a patient, especially with those getting filler for the first time — my advice is to start with a little filler and have my clients come back in a week or two if they need more to achieve their desired result.

5. LIP FILLER DOESN’T HURT … TOO MUCH
Most fillers on the market today are pre-mixed with lidocaine to improve the comfort of the injection, and also I apply topical numbing cream to to further take the edge off. Average my clients rate the pain 5/10.

If You Hear “No,” Listen
I say ‘no’ more than I say ‘yes,’ especially to clients who have already been overfilled and are not willing to scale back by dissolving the previous filler , which consists of breaking up the filler and starting from scratch. Overfilling leads to migration of the filler. Always listen to your injector professional opinion!
