Happy Autumn everyone! We have been overwhelmed by all your kind messages over the past while, so we thought it was time we gave you a quick update on what's been happening...

For those of you asking … Yes, that is the lease for our beloved Coppinger Row currently being advertised over on Daft, and yes, we are definitely going to do everything in our power to get it back!!! 👊🏻

As we have said before, Coppinger Row is a very special place, and that is why we are going to fight to keep our spot on South William Street. We have just put our tender in to the good people at Aviva, and we are very much hoping that our track record will shine through there.

We are also aware that a number of larger funds are going for it too, and from where we’re standing, this feels very much a ‘David and Goliath’ situation, but rest assured, we are determined to give it our best shot!

We firmly believe that we are the best people to return to Coppinger Row and breathe new life into the space we called home for so many years. It broke our hearts to close our doors last December, but today we’re keeping everything crossed 🤞 for brighter days ahead.

So thank you so much for all your gorgeous messages and support in our journey so far - it means more to us than you can possibly know. 🙏 🙏 Onwards! 🙌

It is with a heavy heart we sent this press release out earlier today. We want to thank each and everyone of you who visited us over the years. The support we have received has been over whelming and we are forever grateful. We have been lucky enough to make the most amazing memories and also the most amazing friends. We know Coppinger Row is a special place and that is why we are going to fight to keep our place on South William Street.

Saying Au Revoir, not Goodbye – on 31st December

Marc and Conor Bereen, owners of Coppinger Row, have confirmed that their iconic Dublin city centre restaurant will close on 31st December. After 13 years, a long-planned redevelopment of the site by the landlord will begin, and the shutters will go down on one of Dublin’s best-loved dining destinations.

“It is possible that Coppinger Row could reopen in the redeveloped premises if we can get the landlord to agree and not go to market,” said Marc Bereen. "Coppinger Row restaurant was at the heart of the South William Street renaissance - opening during the global recession in a quiet side street in the former rag trade quarter and building a new vibe with the help of a fun and dynamic team and our wonderfully loyal customers - It’s been quite a journey! We are focused on our sister restaurant Charlotte Quay and an intimate new neighbourhood project on Dublin’s southside, but in the meantime, come make new memories with us in the lead up to Christmas at Coppinger Row."

Over the next six weeks, diners are invited to share their favourite photo memories of Coppinger Row. Each week, the best throwback or current pic, or both together, will win lunch at Charlotte Quay. Use the hashtags .

“The next few weeks will be happy and sad too” said Conor Bereen. “We’ve welcomed everyone from Beyoncé to George Clooney, and rugby stars to politicians, but it’s our regulars that we’ll miss the most. They made us and kept us going through tough times. We like to think we played our part in making our neighbourhood so great, and we will miss it hugely. But watch this space – literally!”

Ahead of the resumption of indoor dining on Monday, we wanted to let you know that we have decided to continue with outdoor dining only at Coppinger Row for the next while, until we are more confident about how to manage the new regulations.

Like all our friends in hospitality, we are doing all we can to keep our amazing customers and staff safe as we try to navigate our way through these strange times. We know that everyone is doing their best and we are very appreciative of everything that the is doing to get everybody back safely dining inside again.

Thanks to the lovely people at and we are very lucky to have a great outdoor dining area. There has been a really lovely vibe here this summer, and we have been really enjoying catching up with everyone again.

We will review the situation again in September, but until then, we hope that you will continue to support us and we look forward to welcoming you to the Street Terrace at Coppinger Row sometime soon. X

We are delighted to share some super exciting news about our 2 new pop up locations for Hang Tough Contemporary where we will host a series of solo exhibitions from exhilarating Irish and international artists. Our first location is on Coppinger Row, next door to the restaurant which will be transformed into a dedicated gallery exhibition space until September.
