It all really started this day last year when the storms lashed us in February and we couldn't open - remember Storm Dennis, Ciara and Jorgé ?
March brought us The Pandemic. It's been a really tough year for us all. Thankfully we had precious days that we could open and that was really great.
We're nearly there hopefully - if we get our jabs this year we can feel safe enough to go to town again to shop. Fingers crossed.
I've been busy setting up the online shop - concentrating on warm useful stuff but not forgetting that we will have weddings and special occasions to look forward to soon. Check it out. Message me if you need help.

This pic is from BIBA in the 70's when they opened their department store in Kensington in the old Derry & Tom's deco building. Happy days- I think this is where I got the bug for collecting vintage pointed scarves!!

Update
We are missing our Saturdays in the store very much.
With no tourists, no weddings, no films, no pubs open right now it’s a tough time for us all in business in the City centre.
We had hoped the bars would reopen on July 20th and town would be buzzing again, but sadly reopening postponed again now till Sept due to rise in COVID cases lately.
Masks now mandatory in shops from this week so that is very welcome news for us cocooners .
We will post here when it is safe for us to trade to the public again

Sad news- the beautiful Betty Wall has passed. Her vintage shop Second Time Around was in the Dandelion Market in the 70’s and then down in Temple Bar. She moved to Sligo years ago with Mike and loved it there. She had a fabulous eye and assisted Mike in his work. He called his wife “his third eye”. His muse.
She will be very fondly remembered by all her family, her many friends and of course Mike. It is terrible that we cannot be with him at this time.
Please send condolences if you can.
