Came across this interesting fact today.

From 1912 to 1948 painting was an Olympic Event. In 1924, Jack Yeats, brother of the poet W.B. Yeats, took the silver: Ireland's first-ever Olympic medal.

Incidentally this is not the picture he won medal for but artwork from Cesar Manrique foundation in Lanzarote taken on my summer holidays in 2011.

A very simple way to become present is to notice what your are now smelling or tasting 😊

The season of Summer is related to Fire in the 5 Elements system of acupuncture. It is a natural time for things to mature and for us to express creative ideas we had in the Spring. Wood is the element associated with Spring. In Summer it is time for our Wood to burn! To allow our energy to flow we have the capacity to express to the world our thoughts and feelings. We can do this verbally, through physical movement, or artistically. There is a sense of movement from our inner being to others and the world outside. Much like a
bud opens to flower. We can express what was a "seed" of an idea and bring it into form.

So how will you express yourself this Summer? Poetry, dance, tai chi, painting, make someone laugh......
