DDF Artist in Residence Luke Murphy- Attic Projects just completed a wildly successful tour of his profound and captivating work "Volcano" at the Brisbane Festival.

It's wonderful to see Irish work of such a high calibre receiving international attention and success, and we couldn't be more thrilled for Luke and all involved in the work.

What a fantastic occasion to come together for the Business to Arts Awards last night to celebrate collaboration, creativity and purposeful partnerships!

DDF is thrilled and honoured to have won the Jim McNaughton/ Perpetual Award for Best Commissioning Practice with our partners Group for 'Kindred', an innovative digital dance installation exploring nature and human connection by celebrated Irish choreographer Liz Roche and Lightscape, award-winning specialists in projection and interaction design.

This free, public artwork was installed on LED screens in the courtyard of ESB’s new sustainable headquarters on Fitzwilliam Street during DDF's 2023 Edition. It created a dynamic and charged space where audiences, ESB employees and the local community could connect with nature as an intense force and consider their role, individually and collectively, in creating a liveable future together.

Congratulations to all the winner and nominees and huge thanks to Business to Arts, TileStyle and, of course, to our partners ESB for their brilliant collaboration and generous support of this project.

Here’s to more inspiring and impactful partnerships ahead!

Sending all good vibes to DDF Artist in Residence Luke Murphy as he heads off to Brisbane Festival with his remarkable work, Volcano, following rave reviews at Galway International Arts Festival and Dublin Theatre Festival in 2023.

In this multi-award-winning show, audiences are invited into a voyeuristic journey played out across four performances full of surprise and intrigue.

"So, I dreamed it all, right? Or did it dream me? Luke Murphy's ravishing Volcano... is a mind-warping, lost-in-space time capsule steeped in futurist nostalgia for a collective past. Nearly 4 molten hours; I could've stayed all night." The New York Times

Volcano runs 30 Aug – 14 Sept BRISBANE POWERHOUSE.

DanceScapes 2024 – A celebration of hip hop culture 17/07/2024

In a special celebration of hip hop culture, DDF invited trailblazing French hip hop artists from Collectif FAIR-E to host DanceScapes 2024. During the Festival, members of this renowned French collective came together with leading Irish hip hop artists Jessie Thompson, Jessie O’Reilly and Tobi Balogun for a week of creative labs, collaboration and community sharings at Dance Ireland.

This intensive exchange culminated in a day and night of public workshops, cyphers and hip hop performances at Project Arts Centre on 18 May, spotlighting French-Irish exchange and marking the first time that Breaking is to be included in the Olympic Games (Paris 2024).

Here’s what the artists had to say about the experience…
