Full steam ahead in the studio this week! Myself and Laura are working on bangles and just picked up our first hallmarked batch from the assay office located a short stroll from the studio in Dublin Castle. (I know, what took us so long!)
We will be rolling this out across our jewellery collections in the coming months. The CGD stamp is for Caffrey Grennan Designs, the 925 indicates this bangle is silver. There is also a teeny stamp unique to the Dublin assay office. Love the cert which we will have to put up in the studio!
Our seasonal soaps are having a moment this week! One of our all-time favourite products, this range was developed and made exclusively for our shop by in Co.Meath. We enlisted the talents of our pal .a.sher to design the packaging, which really gave the soaps personality. Inspired by the Celtic seasons, team with our soap dish for the perfect small gift.
On an overcast Tuesday, we are hoping for the sun to make a comeback to Drury Street. Thanks to Amy for getting a few sunny snaps inside and outside the shop last weekend.
Last night, we had a blast celebrating Kim and StΓ©phanie. Two much valued colleagues who are leaving for greener pastures (literally; Kim out West and Stef to the Alps) They have been with us for 3 years and we will miss them both soooooooo much. For our special meal, we headed to on Fenian Street. What an absolute treat, delicious food and wine, we were very much looked after by Stephen and the team. We will be back for sure!
Thanks sooooo much to for including us in her deadly article; 36 Hours in Dublin. It's a really good guide to a couple of days in our town, & even includes a dip in the sea and a sauna Other fab Dublin businesses and attractions listed: our neighbours and . I unintentionally cropped out the much deserved mention of
DELIGHTED!!!!
Ready for the weekend! A refresh for our ground floor and windows. Strong Summer/seaside theme. Shoutout to the fans who are dropping into the shop having travelled far and wide for the ceolchoirm tomorrow in Dublin. I've my Pearl Jam t-shirt ready for an airing tomorrow! Shop open all weekend, drop by and check out all our gorgeous new products.
We've been busy putting together a beaut of a corporate gifting catalogue with .studio. It will be available on our new website (which is coming soon), and of course, we can email it to anyone interested. From direct gifting to room drops and our unique gifting suite, this contains all the details!
Get in touch if you would like to be added to our mailing list relating to this service.
Feeling pretty lucky to still have our super supportive (yet critical) Dads, John and George, around today.
Also thinking about those who don't and what a tough day these celebrations can be.
We're open until 5pm today for anyone who needs a last minute card or gift.
We're really enjoying working from the workbench in its new position on the first floor. Especially now that the sun has finally come out!
If you haven't been in to see our renovations in store yet, you can pop in to see us over the weekend..... Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.
Our limited edition lino prints are getting lots of attention in our revamped space. This one is called A Wing and a Prayer, made using one big hand carved block with gold hand painted detail. It measures 70 x 50 cm. We went for a gorgeous oak frame for Jo's prints. The good people over always do a fab job. Available in store only for β¬475.
Gorgeous new collaboration with in the works. A series of teatowels inspired by our shorelines screenprinted on Irish linen. One design is seaweed, and we love the use of a colour gradient with this one. The other design features The Curlew. Both are stunning and we can't wait to see the end result. This has been a few months in development. We have a couple more new products up our sleeve, so watch this space for more info.
These terrible photos of our minimal shop were taken this day 11 years ago when we opened our Drury Street premises. Sparse!!! Swipe for a lovely article from the that week by Allana Gallagher. We were made up!
Sooooo, this post also serves as a bit of a head's up to let you know we will be closing our physical shop next week from 12pm Monday, re opening Friday, May 24th. This is to accommodate phase one of a shop update. We are excited, hoping everything goes to plan π€πΌ
The good people are designing and building new shop displays, with more to follow in September's phase 2. Hoping to have some new branded packaging by re opening from .studio but that might be a push! New look website happening the end of this month too. Good to be busy wha?!
A taster of some of the gorgeous new products coming online in the next couple of weeks. We are also updating our hours for summer. We will now close at 5pm on Saturdays for the Summer months, allowing ourselves and our staff to enjoy the long (hopefully sunny) evenings.
The next couple of weeks are going to be busy. We are getting ready to launch our new look website, in addition to planning a few instore updates, working with on some lovely units. Keep ye all posted! Sure, it's all go.
Bringing a little bit of Irish Design Shop to .fairmont for a few days. What a joy and a privilege. We couldn't focus on these events without the support of our incredible team, who are keeping the shop running super smoothly in our absence. Opening hours are as normal in Drury Street, and we look forward to coming back to the shop Friday.
Thanks to Ali for the πΈ when we were feeling fresh this morning π (feeling not so fresh now)
Blankets, in various weaves and wools, we stock an ever increasing range sourced from the best woollen mills around Ireland. We have just added super soft lambswool blankets in a choice of beautiful patterns from to our shop. These will be coming online very soon along with the diamond weave throw from new supplier . These are proving a total hit instore, we absolutely love the pattern and the colours. Also pictured are favourites from and
Cups, thrown or cast, bearing the marks of the maker, are a beautiful thing to hold and use. We have quite the selection, here's a few of our favourites. STUNNING πΈ by .lucy on our vanilla backdrop (which we're obsessed with) and Irish linen from , which creates the perfect texture.

Myself and Laura love visiting makers' studios and workshops. For those who meet us for the first time, I sometimes wonder who they were expecting when two hikers rock up at their door. π
I am working on compiling folders of all our studio visits from the last few years, here's a few I was looking at today. It's such an important part of what we do, meeting our suppliers, getting to know them, and hearing about their making process. It's also so important to document the craft scene in Ireland today, we hope to contribute to that in some small way.
π
This pair of πΊ stars dropped in today to discuss the gorgeous new shop units they are designing and making for us. Can't wait to see the first instalment in late May, with a second instalment planned for September. We love working with good people like who share our passion for design and craftsmanship.
Be sure to catch them on Sunday's with on
Robin and Eoin are renovating a schoolhouse in Wexford into their family home. It is going to be beeeeaaauuutiful
Eric from dropped in a delivery of our beautiful machined brass and Connemara marble candle holders at the weekend. Worth the wait, they are sooooo beautiful. Eric's workshop is located in in Wicklow. He expertly crafts and polishes stone. His studio is defo worth a visit if you're in this neck of the woods. We obviously fell in love with his cocker spaniel Figo, who celebrated his 8th birthday last week. π
Ok, so we are going to need to increase our shipping rates next week. Within Ireland, it is currently β¬6 for tracked, express delivery. From next week, this will increase to β¬8.
Before we implement these increases, we are offering free shipping on all orders within Ireland (just Ireland unfortunately, as to offer free shipping worldwide would be just MENTAL, and Laura is away so she'd kill me if I did that π) You will need to use this code:
aprilshowers on checkout.
ALSO, it's your last weekend to grab a bargain in our jewellery sample sale online. The collection will be removed next week as we are almost sold out of everything. Lots of lovely deliveries this week, so if you're around town, be sure to drop into us. We are open all weekend.
Lovely new things arriving this month. Our long awaited saltpot made by Christien in Wicklow with oak lids by Warren are ALMOST ready to hit the shelves. Delighted to be expanding our collection from Christien, who also makes our oh so popular colour block mugs. Looking forward to selling our pots alongside our (there's a butter dish in the pipeline too). Tom dropped in with wooden plate samples, and I just love this black one, we just placed an order, so hopefully, we will have those soon. All sitting happily on the chunkiest of boards, beautifully made by .mindfulmaker
Finally, gorgeous new pattern in a lambswool blanket from soap (which smells amazing) from and Sea Tamagotchi from .ireland to tie in with the theme.
All items designed and made with passion in Ireland.
What a difference a few years makes! Drury Street this afternoon compared to Drury Street in 2018. The hard work and resilience of the local Indie businesses in our neighbourhood have made this a thriving scene. We're so proud to be part of it. What a shame it is that doesn't have the vision to support creative communities and businesses in our city. Thinking of who are fighting the good fight in Dublin 1, and the much lamented in Dublin 8. Anyone else feel frustrated with our city planning?! We reckon our town deserves more.
Anywhoooo, EASTER π£ OPENING HOURS:
Easter Sunday: CLOSED
Bank Holiday Monday: 1pm to 5pm
All orders placed online this weekend will be dispatched on Tuesday.
Took the shop apart over the last couple of days. Feels so good to give our shelves a little Spring update! I can't wait to get lots of praise from Laura.
Some really special new products, including our coasters and placemats made by the amazing A selection of Irish oak handturned bowls by and lots more. Drop into us for a browse, back open tomorrow from 1 to 5pm. ππΌππΌπ₯πΌπͺ»πͺΊβοΈ
So this is happening!
Drop by our workshop (literally 2 minutes walk from the shop) on March 23rd for bargains and chats galore. This year, we are collaborating with our pal, fellow Dublin designer to make our sample sale BIGGER & BETTER! Jen will be bringing her gorgeous 100% Irish linen collection to our studio. We will have lots of jewellery, which is slightly imperfect or discontinued. Discounts of up to 50%
Two brands, one location, stick that date in your diary, and see you then!
We had a super morning sitting down with Eamonn and Liz of .studio to discuss ideas and plans for a couple of projects this year. We always get so much more out of face to face meetings over coffee. It's going to be a busy few months!
Gorgeous new addition from Kildare based , the Black Sheep is made with activated charcoal and is sure to stand out from the flock. Pure Oskar is a family-run Irish skincare brand specialising in ethical and natural soaps. The range was developed in response to their young son's allergies to other skincare products.
The Curragh Sheep is a customer favourite, even amongst our celeb shoppers (Cate Blanchett picked up a few when she was visiting a few weeks ago!). Available instore and online, it makes a gorgeous gift ready to go to pastures new in it's beautiful packaging.
π
We have two Hedgerows of Ireland limited edition prints in A2 framed in the shop. It is sold out unframed as the edition is now sold out. This gorgeous print by our pal, Dublin illustrator is beautifully mounted in a handmade frame. Was β¬225. We have decided to reduce the two remaining framed ones to β¬180. ONLY TWO LEFT! Get in quick, we're open all weekend, tomorrow 10am to 6pm and Sunday 1pm to 5pm.
It is still available in A3, but we reckon the larger A2 size does Sally's artwork justice.
Good to be back in the studio, feels like it's been a while. The three of us are working on different pieces. Laura is making miniature Kitty earrings, Lorna is working on our Γna necklaces, and I'm making our Vanessa earrings. We're still listening to Barbara Streisand's book, I think we have 15 hours left on it! It's an epic listen.
Each piece of jewellery is handmade by us in our Dublin studio, which is located around the corner from the shop. In between making, we are cooking up a plan for our annual seconds sale. It's going to be an exciting one this year! More info to follow. This day (it'll be a Saturday) gives our customers a chance to see the workshop where the jewellery is made and pick up a bargain!
Created from Irish heritage and vintage fabrics, these little works of art by mixed media artist are getting a lot of attention this week. Inspired by Jo's love of the hills, the water and the wilds of Ireland, each piece is hand stitched. So beautiful and unique, each is a one off, hence why we will not have them available online. Drop into us for a closer look. Each artwork is available unframed for β¬75. (They would look amazing in a custom frame, we'll talk to Mikie!)
π
We still have some gorgeous table linen and felt coasters/placemats in our winter sale. Our linen is so practical, washes great, and lasts a lifetime. You'll want to use it every day. Our felt has been popular for years now. We both use this range in our own homes. It adds a pop of colour and texture while protecting surfaces. We are giving these ranges a bit of a rethink this Spring, hence why we have reduced them. Loved including both in these home shoots.
